Garffiljorg, simply known as Garff is a minor character from Dragons: Race to the Edge.
Biography
There was a dragon egg stolen by the Dragon Hunters. The Dragon Riders saved it and took care of it. It hatched under Tuffnut's chicken. That dragon is a Death Song. The Dragon Riders named him Garffiljorg. They took care of him by communicating to him by singing. Later, they go to Melody Island and met an adult Death Song and made him adopt Garff.
In the episode, No Dragon Left Behind, Garff is now grown up. The Dragon Riders decided to give Garff a new home since his previous home had Dragon Hunters. They went to the island and decided it is the new home of Garff, but unfortunately, there are Slitherwing Dragons, which are natural predators of Death Songs. The Slitherwings kidnapped Garff, but the Riders saved him and later brought him to a safer home.
Personality
When Garff was a baby, he kept crying when he is not with his parents. He feels better when someone communicates to him by singing, since singing is his natural instinct.
When he was fully grown he is still friends with the Riders, but he still hunts prey, since he is a predator of other dragons. He attempts to eat a Night Terror Dragon, Smidvarg, but Fishlegs stopped him.
Abilities
- Amber Spit: Instead of breathing fire, Garff spits amber as an attack, which sticks his prey.
- Hypnotic Song: Garff can create a song that can attract his prey to him.
