Kumiko Albertson (née Nakamura) is a Japanese manga writer who is obsessed of anime and manga and married Comic Book Guy.
Initially, Kumiko's father did not want her to see the Comic Book Guy again, but after having a dream and after learning that the real monster was himself, his father to allow her to marry the Comic Book Guy.
From Season 25 onwards, Kumiko Albertson is one of the major characters from the TV Series "The Simpsons".
Kumiko also had a mother who died.
She was originally voiced by Tress MacNeille, who also voiced Lindsey Naegle, Cookie Kwan, Agnes Skinner, Shauna Chalmers, Bernice Hibbert, and Colin in the series, but she is currently voiced by Jenny Yokobori, who also voiced Naganohara Yoimiya in Genshin Impact, Elice in Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light, and Rio Futaba in Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai.
Appearance
Kumiko has her short black hair styled in a ponytail, secured with a pink hairbow. Her attire includes a pink hoodie adorned with a bear design, a black miniskirt, white knee-high socks, black Mary Jane shoes, and light pink lipstick.
Biography
Kumiko traveled to America to write an autobiography about manga, focusing on the saddest cities in the world, especially Springfield. Upon her arrival at the Comic Book Store, Comic Book Guy fell in love with her and asked her to go out on a date. During their date, Comic Book Guy expressed dissatisfaction and shouting at the waiter, which Kumiko found impressive. She mentions that in Japan, people would never express their opinions or complain. Kumiko and Comic Book Guy are planning to move to the basement together. However, while Homer is sending a gift to them, Yutaka Nakamura arrives at the Comic Book Store to learn from Homer about the overweight man that she is dating. Kumiko is being taken away by her father to return to Japan.
Marge has a plan to get Kumiko back to him. Homer proceeds to take Yutaka to the Japanese bar, and they drink Snake Rice Wine, resulting in both of them getting drunk. After a hallucinogenic experience, Yutaka realizes that his actions are negatively impacting his daughter's life by preventing her from being with the person she loves. At the Simpson House, Yutaka reinstates Kumiko to be with Comic Book Guy, learning from him that Comic Book Guy doesn't need a real job. The Simpson family, along with Milo and his wife, participated in the wedding at the Comic Book Store where Kumiko and Comic Book Guy were married by Stan Lee.
Non-Canon
In the episode "Bart's Birthday", Kumiko went labor, Comic Book Guy tries to call ambulance but there's no doctors left. Eventfully, John Cena arrives to help Kumiko to deliver her baby with Klingon Bat'leth which her baby was officially born. Subsequently, Comic Book Guy and Kumiko leave the store as he's no longer collecting the toys anymore. Later, Kumiko with her baby appears in the Simpson House to celebrate Bart's 11th birthday with crowds (including deceased characters from the previous episodes).
Other Appearances
Kumiko also appeared in The Simpsons: Tapped Out during the Married to the Blob Promotional for a limited time. During the final event, Taps 2024 (Wave 1), Kumiko returned to the store to commemorate the game's shut down on January 24, 2025.
