Uncharted: Eye of Indra
Elena briefly appears in Eye of Indra, where she reporting on television that Nathan Drake and Victor "Sully" Sullivan were watching at a beach resort. Nate explains to Sully that he is meeting with Elena to discuss cost arraignments to find Sir Francis Drake's coffin.
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Filming the discovery of Sir Francis Drake's coffin, Nate reveals that the coffin only contains his supposed ancestor's diary. Upon the discovery, the two are attacked by pirates, and are forced to defend themselves until Sully arrives in his seaplane. Seeing the potential of a story, Elena contacts the executives to bring her a crew, but she notices Nate and Sully leaving her to continue on their hunt. Despite this setback, Fisher managed to follow the two in the Amazon rainforest and encountered Drake, who was running away from Gabriel Roman and Atoq Navarro's mercenaries. Though angry with Nate, once she learned of Sully's "death", she agreed to help him evade Navarro's mercenaries. Drake also explained where the location of El Dorado was, and the two managed to retrieve Sully's plane to go there.
While traveling to the island, the seaplane is damaged, forcing Elena and Nate is parachute their way on land. Landing near a fortress, Elena continued to investigate while filming as Nathan was forced to fight against pirates until he was captured by Eddy Raja. Finding his location, Elena rescues Nate with a jeep and the two evade Raja's men and reach the drowned city. In the city, Elena shows Nate footage of a still-alive Sully working for Roman, but Drake decides to focus on their quest as he states that he will confront Victor on his own. During their search for El Dorado, Elena loses her camera when crossing a bridge, but is saved by Nate in the process. The two continued to fight against Raja's pirates and confronted Sully, who revealed that he was faking his allegiance to Roman, and managed to survive being shot via Sir Francis' journal.
The trio then work together to find a way into the monastery, but are separated from Sully as they continue underground. Elena and Nate battle more of Raja's men until they are attacked by descendants, whom proceed to Eddy and his men. The duo are able to escape into a control room, but Nate leaves to turn on the power. During this time, Elena is captured by Roman and Navarro, who take her to the El Dorado statue. She witnesses Roman mutate and be killed by Navarro, who reveals his plot to sell the statue in the black market. During the final confrontation on Navarro's tanker, Elena is saved by Nate after he defeats Atoq in combat. The two reunite and meet with Sully, who managed to take a small boat that contained treasure.
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
Following her adventure, Elena became an investigate journalist, and decided to investigate the apparent death of war criminal Zoran Lazarević. Despite him being labeled dead by NATO during a bombing raid, Fisher believes that he survived and continuing his terror in Nepal. Wanting to prove that the war criminal is still active, Elena travels to Nepal with the cameraman Jeff, where the two encounter Nate and his partner Chloe Frazer. The group work together to fight against Lazarević's army as Nate and Chloe are in Nepal to find a temple that will tell the location of Shambhala, but Drake tells Elena and Jeff to wait outside the entrance. When Zoran's army arrives, Jeff is critically wounded, and Nate decides to help him reach safety despite Chloe's chagrin.
Despite their attempts to save Jeff, Lazarević and Harry Flynn arrive and the war criminal murders Jeff, and orders Flynn to kill Elena and Nate. The two manage to escape and reach to safety, but Nate explains that he wants to rescue Chloe, who was forced to play her false allegiance to Zoran to save them. Elena agrees and helps him board the train, and follows the tracks until she founds the wreckage that Drake caused. She continued to follow and came across a Tibetan village under the guidance of retired explorer Karl Schäfer, whom managed to have Nate be rescued. Elena later reunites with Nate, and participates in the conversation with Schäfer on what the Cintamani stone is. While Nate and Tenzin are sent to find what is left of Karl's expedition, the village is attacked by Lazarević's army.
Elena stayed and helped the villagers, and later met with Nate, blaming herself for the attack due to their search for the stone. The two then learn that Schäfer has been captured by Lazarević, and Elena and Nate attempt to rescue him at the monastery. The two found him mortally wounded, and Karl tells Nate to stop Zoran from obtaining the power of the stone. Elena and Nate then separate to find the doorway to Shambhala, but Elena and Chloe are captured by Lazarević. Once Nate has opened the gateway to the city, the group are attacked by the guardians. Elena, Nate and Chloe manage to escape, but decide to stop Zoran from reaching the stone, and battle against the guardians and Zoran's army. Upon reaching the sap, Nate realizes that the sap isn't the gemstone, but the sap comes from the tree.
During the conversation, a wounded Flynn arrives and attempts to kill them with a grenade, but only causes Elena to be wounded. She attempts to tell Nate and Chloe to leave her to stop Lazarević, but Drake decides to stop him and asks Chloe to get her out of the city. After Lazarević is stopped and Shambhala is left in ruins, the group return to the village, where Nate decides to begin a relationship with her. Following these events, Elena and Nate married at an unknown point in time, but their relationship ended due to Drake's obsession with treasure hunting.
Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception
Around the 2010s, Elena continued her profession by coming a news correspondent, and was positioned in Yemen. She reunites with Nate and Sully during their search for the Atlantis of the Sands, as Sir Francis made a stop in the city during his expedition. After evading Katherine Marlowe's agents, the group reach a courtyard that requires them to solve a puzzle to enter the catacombs. The trio discover messages written by Sir Francis that warn of Iram, but are forced to escape due to the arrival of booby-trapped spiders. Upon leaving the catacombs, Nate is drugged by Talbot, and he proceeds to run away from Elena and Sully during the confusion. Both Drake and Sully are captured by Marlowe's men, but Elena is able to evade them and attempted to find her friend.
Later on, Nate arrives at Elena's apartment after escaping from Rameses, and Elena explains that Marlowe's men are preparing to leave at the airstrip. The next day, Elena and Nate infiltrate the airstrip and she manages to have him board the airplane, watching him leave from Yemen. Her assistance was pivotal in Nate rescuing Sully from Marlowe's men, as they stopped Katherine from taking the hallucinogenic water from Iram. Following the adventure, Elena reunites with Nate, who reveals his wedding ring, intending to rekindle their marriage instead of focusing on adventures.
A New Life
With Nate deciding to end his lust for treasure hunting, Elena and Nate rekindled their marriage and moved to New Orleans to live a normal life. Elena continued to work as a journalist, as Nate got a job as a salvage sea diver for Jameson's company.
Uncharted 4: A Thief's End
When Nate is hesitant to work on the Malaysian job since Jameson doesn't have the permits, Elena encourages him to go since she has noticed that he has missed his adventurous life. When Nate's brother Sam returns and needs his help to find Henry Avery's treasure, he decides to lie to Elena by telling her he took the Malaysia job. Though she initially believes him, she starts to have doubts when he refuses to have her come down in a lie about Malaysia's weather. Sensing that he was lying, Elena managed to locate Nate to Madagascar and confronted him. Upon learning of his brother, Elena becomes frustrated and angry at Nate's lies, and decides to return home. However, Elena changes her mind and works with Sully to find Nate and Sam, who have traveled to New Devon in their search for Avery's treasure.
In the jungle, Elena comes across an unconscious Nate, and nurses him back to health while he explains his past with his brother. The two then work together to find Sam, battling against Shoreline and slowly reconciling. After surviving Avery's booby traps, the couple reach Sam, and Nate tells his brother that they're leaving the island since the treasure wasn't worth it. However, Nate is forced to rescue his brother when the two are separated, where he also confronts and defeats Rafe Adler. After their farewell to Sam in King's Bay, Elena tells Nate that she has missed their adventures as well, and has bought Jameson's company to create their own. The couple then started D&F Fortunes and become legitimate treasure hunters, and Elena later gave birth to their daughter Cassie.
Years after the events on Libertalia, Elena and Nate discover their daughter finding items from their past adventures, and decide to tell their stories.
Personality
Elena is the "female version of Drake" as creator Amy Hennig describes; she is just as charming, intelligent and tenacious as him, and can hold her own when climbing or under fire.
This is pointed out by Nate himself in Drake's Fortune as he is impressed by her ability during the attack on their boat. The two have the same sense of humor and cavalier attitude toward their opponents, but she tends to be more naïve and compassionate (such as when Harry Flynn is dying).
Elena is optimistic and cunning, driving Nate to keep moving forward. She doesn't always agree with Nate's decisions but helps him anyway. She becomes a much better strategist over the course of the games. She helps Nate plan ways into sneaking into restricted areas and taking out opponents.
Relationships
Nathan Drake
Nate is immediately attracted to Elena, but is initially only interested in using her and her production team to fund his own exploits. After Elena tracks down Nate, they are forced to cooperate. She is attracted to Nate's heroism, though between the games, the dangers of his job puts strain on their on-off relationship. They eventually marry, but once again break up when Nate returns to treasure hunting. Following his confrontation with Marlowe in Drake's Deception, Nate finally settles down and the two enter a more stable relationship together in New Orleans until Sam, Nate's forgotten brother, tracks them down.
Nate then chooses to lie to Elena, while he secretly continues his hunt for Henry Avery's treasure. Elena eventually tracks them down, and all three leave the island of Libertalia alive. 13-15 after the events of A Thief's End, Elena and Nate are living on a beach house with a daughter named Cassie and a Labrador called Vicky, having finally managed to balance a normal life with their longing for adventure.
Victor Sullivan
Elena and Sullivan have a friendly relationship, which improves naturally as she and Nate grow closer. By Drake's Deception, Elena voices her concern that Nate is going to get Sully killed if he continues his line of work, and cites it as one of the reasons for their break up. It is believed that they remained friends after A Thief's End, with Sully regularly visiting her, Nate, and Cassie at their beach house.
Chloe Frazer
Elena and Chloe are very much the exact opposites of each other which serves to portray different sides of Nate's personality. Initially, the two women are at odds as both of them subtly compete over their feelings for Nate. When Chloe is taken hostage by Lazarević in Among Thieves, Elena reluctantly assists Nate in freeing her. Elena and Chloe are much less antagonistic with each other when they cooperate in Shambhala and Chloe helps save Elena's life following her grenade injury from Harry Flynn.
Charlie Cutter
Despite not meeting on-screen, Elena knows about Charlie. Her reaction to his involvement suggests she's aware of his partnership with Nate. Sully assures her that he is not dead after breaking his leg in Syria.
