~ Defect Mogeko's last words to Yonaka |
Nega-Mogeko, also known as Defect Mogeko, is the deuteragonist of the 2012 Indie Role-playing-game Mogeko Castle (alongside it's 2014 remake) created by Funamusea. He's the former Guardian of the seventh floor who was imprisioned by the king for being defective, but after being freed thanks to Yonaka, he will become her guide in her way back to home.
Personality
Defect Mogeko could be described as relatively tough but calm, which contrasts with Yonaka more emotional personality to the events throughout the game. While he did say he only helped Yonaka because he had nothing better to do, the truth is that he was always more concerned in Yonaka's safety rather than his own, being unfazed by any harm or anything letal as long as it didn't affect her, showing he's also selfless and this proven one last time when he fights King mogeko while telling Yonaka to escape, unfortunately this ultimately would lead to his death.
He's also one of the few character in the franchise in general to have a decent and kind personality in contrast to the rest of characters in the other games. He loves stuffed animals and has really cute hobbies. He wants to act and seem cool but also has a lot of hidden cute aspects.
Appearence
Defect Mogeko or Nega-Mogeko, used to look like a regular Mogeko, with the only distintive trait of his skin being of a green color instead of yellow. After his imprisonment and when Yonaka meets him, he has an X-shaped scar on his torso and a scar on the right side of his face, he is also missing his left ear and tail.
Biography
Past
Long ago, there was a lonely creature who created a whole kingdom for himself, so that way he wouldn't feel empty and lonely, this lead to the creation of The Seven Special Mogekos. These seven Mogekos were put on each of the floors of the castle and served as its guardian. Soon, he made more Mogekos to fill in the empty space and became satisfied with his creation.
While he was benevolent ruler at first, little by little he went changing his ways, becoming more and more morably questionable. When his counterpart, Nega-Mogeko confronted him for his actions and told him his ways of ruling were wrong, mogeko disregarded him and called Nega-Mogeko "defective" and imprisoned him. No matter how much Nega Mogeko tried to resist or escape, it was never enough, and so he gave up after losing his ear, waiting for the day of his execution.
Floor III
In the day of Nega-Mogeko's execution, surprisingly he found himself with another person in his cell, and it was a highschooler girl who was imprisoned after being captured by a group of Mogekos, she presents herself to him revealing her name is "Yonaka Kurai" she talks to him for awhile regarding some of the reason of his imprisonment, Yonaka nicknames the weird Mogeko "Defect Mogeko" and thus, after their talk Defect Mogeko notices Yonaka's key, and asks her to give it to him, she quickly accepts it and Defect Mogeko is finally able to unlock the chains of his left leg and is now free, with his newfound freedom. Defect Mogeko decides to join Yonaka in finding her way back home, Yonaka now with Defect Mogeko as her ally, they walk through another hallway that contains a cell with multiple crazed Mogekos locked in, Yonaka and Defect Mogeko get past that section and now enter another special section of the Castle, this one being The Blood Realm, which is completely red and having weird looking structures and surfaces that have the shape of a heart and multiple tubes, this structures transport them to the left and right of the room, using this structures Yonaka and Defect Mogeko get to the room of the Special Mogeko of the floor, Blood Spirit helps Yonaka by making his Blood Servant send her directly to the next floor.
Floor IV
Yonaka and Defect Mogeko are teleported to the fourth floor, they arrive in the first room after The Blood Servant had died while teleporting them, Yonaka and Defect Mogeko get out of the first room and they start heading to the next floor as soon as possible, they walk through a hallway that contains 6 different doors that lead to the rooms of different Mogekos, all of this Mogekos are completely sad and depressed as Yonaka describes. The duo walk through the first east hallway filled with dozens of corpses of Mogekos and the second East Hallway.
Both of them get into a long hallway, Yonaka uses this opportunity to speak and ask Defect Mogeko questions about the reason of why the Mogekos in this floor were all so depressed. Defect Mogeko explains how this floor was ruled by Moge-ko, and this was the reason of why all The Mogekos in this floor are all so full of fear, since Moge-ko took over the floor and became it's new ruler, thanks to her tyranny, Moge-Ko also demanded an elevator that goes straight to the fifth floor, and so it would be much easier and faster for Yonaka to get back home. While this chat took place, Moge-ko noticed their presence, and started watching them all the time until they arrive to the elevator.
Yonaka and Defect continue their way to the elevator by walking through The Mogemoge Land a bleak area with many weird energetic Mogekos, eventually they get to the door that leads them to the path to the execution room, once they get through the door of the Execution hallway, they finally arrive to their destination. Unfortunately, their path is blocked by Moge-ko and another group of Mogekos, Moge-ko and her minions began chasing Yonaka for several hours until Yonaka amd Defect Mogeko finally manage to lost them. Yonaka along with Defect Mogeko began to walk to the Hall Of Sorrow, which would allow them to get inside Moge-ko's room, in this room there was a bedroom that contained a secret passage to the next floor, they succesfully find the secret passage and finally arrive to the fifth floor.
Floor V
Yonaka and Defect Mogeko arrive to the next floor and find themselves in a big room containing 3 doors and an east hallway with other 2 doors, Yonaka takes the fifth door by suggestion of Defect Mogeko, the duo arrives in a hospital located inside this floor, Defect Mogeko tells Yonaka that they have to get in there and find the weapons room due to a terrible and scary monster wandering in this very floor, to do that they have to take an elevator to go the last floor of the Hospital', however a "gross bug" is blocking the button to the fourth floor, this makes Yonaka and Defect go through all the floors in hope in finding something to kill it, hopefully for them, after wandering the third floor, Yonaka finds an insecticide and uses it to kill the gross bug, after killing the bug, Yonaka and Defect finally arrive at the last floor and briefly explore it before finding the weapons armor, Defect Mogeko finds a rocket launcher and stuffes it in his inventory.
After obtaining for what they were looking for, Yonaka and Defect Mogeko exit the hospital and get inside the fourth door of the first room, this leads them to a long hallway in which Defect Mogeko explains to Yonaka the history of the castle and it's creation. Once a lonely individual created a kingdom for himself and became the ruler of it, The King also made seven special Mogekos for each floor, unfortunately for them Moge-ko was waiting for them in another room, and so she releases the caged monster to kill both of them, Defect Mogeko tries to kill the monster by using the rocket launcher, but Moge-ko creates a forcefield around them, preventing it to harm the monster, seeing their only hope of killing that monster was now destroyed, Yonaka and Defect start running for their lives. After running away from it for a good time, they finally escape by entering a door that leads them to the Fluffy World, the residence of the fifth guardian Moffuru and also the home of the Mofukos, Mogekos infected with the Blancfluff parasite that die within a month. With the guidance of Moffuru, Yonaka and Defect Mogeko walk through The Fluff Path, a place where the souls of dead Mofuko become stars, which fall on the land and can be seen in the sky. At the end of this path they find Lord Prosciutto's light, which can be used to ascend to the sixth floor, and so Yonaka and Defect use it to go up to the next floor.
Floor VI
Yonaka and Defect Mogeko teleport right to the next floor, appearing in the first room of the floor, which contains 2 statues and dead Mogekos, after both of them get past the doors of the room and a long hallway, Yonaka along with Defect Mogeko walk through some stairs that lead them to the next room, and the last one that comes before the library, they walk into staircases before getting inside the door leading to the library, much to their surprise, they instead find the throne room, which is the location of King mogeko, Defect Mogeko quickly gets out his rocket launcher he got from earlier and shoots it at the king which apparently kills him or knocks him out for some time.
As they escape from the throne room, Yonaka and Defect are now in a place called the Unknown Realm which has 2 rooms, the last one being extremely similar to the Blood Realm of the second floor, after exiting the Unknown Realm, Yonaka and Defect Mogeko arrive in a room that is extremely similar to the first room of floor I, with the difference of having an illusion of somekind of Moge-ko and a dead Mogeko. Yonaka and Defect Mogeko enter the door of the right and walk into a bloody path that leads into the outdoors of somekind of building, after getting inside said building, Defect Mogeko realizes it's the library, which was located else where thanks to the guardian of the floor. Yonaka and Defect go to the right room and walk straight into the hallway until they reach a dead end, in which Defect Mogeko manages to find the secret passage and make the secret door appear, taking them to the Chicken Coop, a realm that it's floor is made out of clouds and contains multiples shelving books along with chicken/chick statues, after going through the door to the next room, Yonaka and Defect Mogeko meet the sixth guardian, Mogecuckoo.
He tries to help them by teleporting them with the egg, but this fails ultimately because the warp was interrupted by mogeko, with no more time to waste, Yonaka and Defect leave the room and wander through the maze of the cell rooms while being chased by multiple Mogekos, eventually the king finds both of them amd shoots Defect Mogeko right in his chest, Defect Mogeko uses a tear gas to paralize long enough for him to get Yonaka to a safe room while he leaves her to deal with the Mogekos by himself. Defect Mogeko easily kills all the Mogekos that were chasing Yonaka in one second with his Katana, but now he had to face his greatest enemy, mogeko. As the 2 engage in a battle of katanas, it seemed at first like Nega Mogeko won the battle by piercing through the king's chest, but as he was unable to pull the sword out, soon enough the truth was revealed, mogeko was still alive, and he defeats Nega Mogeko and proceeds to capture him crucify and burn him to death, in which he succeeds, all of this while Yonaka was still watching, despite being heartbroken, Yonaka sees Defect Mogeko one last time before saying goodbye to him, and leaving the room in which he left her in to walk into a long hallway before taking the staircases that would get her to the seventh and final floor.
