Arthur Boyle is one of the two deuteragonists of the anime/manga series Fire Force (alongside Viktor Licht). He is a fresh recruit to Company 8 with delusions of grandeur. The self-appointed Knight King, Arthur uses his powers to make a blade out of plasma called Excalibur that can cut through almost anything. He was also Shinra's rival in high school and they can't stand each other.
He is voiced by Yusuke Kobayashi in the Japanese (who also voiced Senku Ishigami in Dr. Stone and Subaru Natsuki in Re;Zero), and by Eric Vale (who also voiced Sanji in One Piece) in English
Personality
Arthur tends to overestimate his abilities, appearing to be arrogant and smug, notably for his habit of refusing to use honorific speech regardless of who he is talking to. He has a medieval-like complex, which appears to be a coping mechanism from his parents abandoning him. This medieval complex causes him to do things like referring to the girls he meets as princesses and the Special Fire Cathedral 8 as his castle. Arthur sees the world in a different light; he believes the pigeons to be griffons and that he was successful in slaying dragons. According to Shinra, he is inexplicably popular with the girls and seems to always have a silent and mysterious façade, though Shinra thinks he's just too stupid to articulate anything. Arthur often bickers with Shinra Kusakabe on which are superior: knights or heroes.
Appearance
Arthur is a slim teenager of average height with shaggy blonde hair and blue eyes with white pupils, similar to Shinra. He tends to style his hair upwards into a ponytail when in a fight, so that his field of vision would be clearer. When Arthur was first introduced, he wore a dark jacket, with a button on his collar, shaped like a cross-like insignia, light shirt, dark pants, a belt and dark shoes.
