Levi Pinfold

Levi Pinfold is an English illustrator who created the unique Bloomsbury 20th anniversary Hogwarts Houses-themed covers for Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.[1][2][3][4] Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows were also released, but as house editions, because they were released before their 20th anniversaries.[5][6][7]

Pinfold is from the Forest of Dean in England and lives in Cornwall, England. He studied art at University College Falmouth. Working as a self employed illustrator, his debut picture book was The Django, inspired his love of music.[8]

Levi won The Book Trust Early Years Award in the Best Emerging Illustrator Category in 2010, and was chosen for the Book Trust Best New Illustrators Award in 2011. Levi also enjoys writing stories in his spare time and has published a children's book, Black Dog.[8]

On 11 March 2025 it was reported that Pinfold would be illustrating the Illustrated Editions of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, following the exit of Jim Kay, who did the Illustrated Editions for the first five Harry Potter titles. The announcement was accompanied by a first-look illustration of Harry Potter staring into the Pensieve, accompanied by Albus Dumbledore.[9]
