9 March: Actor Simon Fisher-Becker, who portrayed the Fat Friar in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (film), dies at the age of 63.
10 April: Harry Potter Chicago opens.
22 May: Universal Epic Universe, an expansion of the Universal Orlando Resort theme park that features The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Ministry of Magic area, will open.
22 June: The final show of the North American tour production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in Los Angeles, USA, will premiere at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre
8 July: The National Theatre in Washington D.C. will start hosting the the North American tour production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
26 August: Pocket Potters: Little guides to the Harry Potter stories by J.K. Rowling releases book 1, 2, and 3.^[1]
