~ Melinoë |
Talos is a legendary giant automaton created by Hephaestus, sent to protect the island of Crete that was later destroyed by Medea. Talos was recovered and rebuilt again but in a smaller frame. In Hades, he is mentioned as the previous bearer of Malphon.
In Hades II, Talos is a Warden encounter of Mount Olympus.
Combat
Talos is a semi-Guardian encounter, having a large health bar with a nameplate along the top of the screen instead of being a unique Elite enemy.
- Jetpack: Talos activates his jetpack and follows Melinoë. The jetpack leaves patches of fire behind Talos as he follows Melinoë.
- Shield Throw: Talos throws one of his shields in a straight line that will return back to him.
- Double Shield Throw: Talos throws both of his shields, they will spin around the arena and return back to Talos.
- Spinning Blades: Talos will place both of his shields on top of his head and spin, tracking Melinoë.
- Suction & Uppercut: Talos creates a whirlwind that will pull Melinoë (if caught) to him. When he finishes, he will do an uppercut attack.
Vow of Shadow: If the Vow of Shadow is active, then Talos will be accompanied by a shadow version of a Auto-Forcer and Auto-Watcher. These copies are Elite enemies with armor.
Book of Shadows Entry
'Extraordinary talent is required to breathe life into a statue, and for that, Lord Hephaestus ought to be quite proud. Of all his Automaton creations, this one stand tallest in every respect.
An earlier design was battle tested on a distant isle, where it proved fairly capable but was ultimately destroyed. But the parts were recovered, and this never model, whilst smaller, now resembles on its own.'
Trivia
- Talos is the second Aspect Bearer of the Infernal Arms to be an enemy after Eris.
- Unlike previous Aspect Bearers who got their weapons back, Talos did not receive the Twin Fists.
- Its item from the Well of Charon, Nail of Talos, alludes to its weak spot, the single vein it has that gives it life, hence its effect of dealing more damage to armor.
