History
Von Helsing is the captain of the Tivvay-class cruiser Graf Zepplin. He speaks with a heavy German accent and commands a Zeon fleet ordered by Lt. Col. Killing to perform a nuclear attack on Side 6. Von Helsing's fleet is captured by Earth Federation forces a few hours before the set time for the nuclear launch.

Notes & Trivia
- His name is derived from Abraham Van Helsing, a vampire hunter in the Bram Stoker novel "Dracula". "Van" and "von" should not be confused as van is a Dutch noble title and von a German one.
