Gaian who is an avatar of God was supposed to get rid of malignant spirits from the desert and stabilize Kricktria. After the Creator left for another world, avatars of God went into hibernation one by one. Their names were erased from people's memories, and even those people who remember their names couldn't recognize their faces.

Decanee who found out that their nature was destroyed, infected avatars of God with her Demonic Energy. Due to Decanee's Demonic Energy, there was unknown hatred and craziness in Corrupted Gaian's heart. Maybe the hatred is aimed at himself or is aimed toward the original Gaian who is buried deep inside Corrupted Gaian.

Corrupted Anubis

Holy beast of Sand that respects avatars of God.

The holy beast of Sand, Anubis, served as Gaian's limbs. Ancient people have mistaken Anubis for Gaian who appeared with huge hands made up of Sand and appeared as a Sandstorm.

Is that why? Anubis who identified himself as Gaian became Corrupted like Gaian. It was the moment the desert's hope changed to despair.

As a boss

Corrupted Gaian can be fought as a boss in the second half of Epilogue 2.5: The Last Avatar of God after defeating Sandstorm Gaian.

Attacks

During the battle against Sandstorm Gaian, Ancient Golems are summoned and each will leave a wall when eliminated. When Gaian transforms into his dark form, the party can move behind one of the walls present in the room to dodge his attack because Gaian will move to the middle and use an explosion that chases an ally. To prevent him from destroying multiple walls at once with his explosion attack, spread out the placement of Ancient Golems when taking them down.

Gaian utilizes some of his attacks as a playable character. However, the 'Touch of Corruption' debuff stack from his 'Corrupter Touch' skill has no limit, and thus the player should be careful. Meanwhile, SP will increase by 1 each time you are attacked by his magic skill.

Once his HP reaches 30%, Gaian becomes enraged and will deal more damage as time goes by while also applying the 'Touch of Corruption' debuff stack. Then your party's cooldown is decreased by 30% but they gain SP over time.

Corrupted Saint Gaian

Gaian becomes the boss enemy for the Temple of Time dungeon in the original game.

Corrupted Saint Gaian is an exceptionally agile boss. Along with his rapid movements, he can teleport frequently, allowing him to easily dodge attacks and abilities while quickly closing in on targeted players. He can combine teleportation with other attacks, dealing significant damage through swift, varied combos.

When Gaian propels himself forward, he creates a clone and performs a direct horizontal charge at the player, inflicting heavy damage. Similarly, he can create a clone and execute a vertical charge, also dealing substantial damage. Gaian then follows up with a two-part attack: first, he summons 3 stone spikes from the ground to strike players, and then he levitates 3 stalagmites and hurls them down, hitting anyone in their path. He also conjures 10 energy spheres that line up vertically, which, after a brief moment, spread outward, damaging anyone they touch.

One of Gaian's abilities is to manipulate time. He creates a clock around all players, slowing them down and inflicting continuous damage if they don't escape in time. After snapping his fingers, Gaian paralyzes a player and summons 3 clones to attack. During this attack, both Gaian and his clones become intangible, forcing the player to dodge or take massive damage.

If Gaian uses his ability to summon 3 clones, once the attack ends, 3 suspended Golem of Reversing Time will appear on the map. If players choose to destroy these golems, a field will form around Gaian, paralyzing him for an extended time and making him vulnerable to attacks. While paralyzed, Gaian also becomes weakened, taking extra damage from player attacks.

Trivia

• Gaian is the first Hero among Tier S characters to have a Tier SR counterpart.
  • Corrupted Gaian, in particular, was originally a boss enemy in Temple of Time (Epilogue).
    • The spikes of rocks that surround Gaian as a boss unit do not appear in the Hero version.
• Gaian along with Arsad are the only two characters to possess a 'Content Effect'.
  • Gaian had a Content Effect called 'Overlord of Darkness' that increased allies' attack damage by 20% if he participated in dungeon fight for Dual Raid's Fire and Ice and New World.
    • As of June 9 in the Korean server, Gaian no longer has this skill.
• Gaian along with Arsad are the only two Tier SR characters that had no evolution concept.
  • Corrupted shares the same name with Dark Nephilim's previously ★4 avatar.
    • Gaian was also an avatar of God that was corrupted by Decanee hence the concept's name.
    • Gaian is the only avatar of God whose dark form is significantly different from the original in terms of appearance.
• According to the developers' response in an online Q&A, Gaian and Arsad were not given further updates after Transcendence Awakening due to their very limited performance as Tier SR characters and stated having no plans of doing so in the future.^[1]
• Oddly enough, Corrupted Gaian had somehow developed a hobby despite his very brief existence.
• Gaian's left hand resembles that of Dio's Rake Hand.
