Okami

Okami (おかみさん, Okami-san, lit. madam) is the wife of Mr. Duffi and mother of Madge in the film Castle in the Sky. Like her husband, she watches out for and takes care of Pazu, as well as Sheeta when she befriends Pazu. She helps protect the children from the Dola's Gang when they pursue Sheeta. She is voiced by Machiko Washio in the Japanese version, Lara Cody in the Streamline English dub, and Tress MacNeille in the Disney English dub.

Her name is unknown.

Appearance

She has dark eyes and bright orange hair which she wears pulled up in a fluffy ponytail.

She wears a green dress with a white apron around her waist.

Biography

She is first mentioned when her husband asks his co-worker Pazū if he brought Okami's food.

She is first seen in her house when the air pirates from Dōra's gang were searching for Sheeta in her hometown. The air pirates Charlie and Henri question her husband about this, standing in front of his house. When Pazū runs to Duffi and reveals to him that these are the two questioning air pirates, Duffi stands protectively in front of Pazū and Sheeta. Meanwhile, Okami pulls the two into her house and tells them to leave through the back entrance.

Charlie takes a deep breath to show his muscles. In the process, his shirt bursts open. Duffi does the same to him. She then asks him rhetorically who may now mend his shirt. Duffi looks away gloomily before getting into a fight with the air pirates.

She is seen again later, when Pazū has returned home from Tedi's fortress. Madge calls out to her when she sees the boy. She immediately goes out of the house and faces Pazū with her hands clasped at her waist. She asks him in a loud voice where he has gone and where Sheeta is now. Sad and angry, Pazū runs home.

After the destruction of Laputa, it is unknown that she and her husband have heard that Pazu have been retire from being a miner as he will never return to Slag Ravine which means Sheeta is going back to valley of Gondoa with him, which makes them shocked.
