Raccoon appears to be energetic, cocky and handsome, with his enthusiasm. Raccoon is sometimes a member of Franklin's class, but his appearances are rather infrequent.

- Raccoon is absent in the spin-off series Franklin and Friends, alongside Badger.
- He didn't appear in the Back to School with Franklin, because a different soccer team were depicted as raccoons.
- It is likely the reason for this was because the writers couldn't think of any other suitable animals to depict the other team as.
- He didn't have any dialogue on the show until halfway through Season Three. Despite this, and his infrequent appearances, Raccoon is present from the very beginning of the television series, being a member of Bear's soccer team in "Franklin Plays the Game."
- He has a younger brother who has never appeared physically. His younger brother has only been mentioned in one episode.
- Raccoon can play the recorder [2] and the tambourine[3].
- He is not part of Franklin's normal group of friends, along with Skunk and Badger.
