First Love is the fifth episode of Season 1 of First Kill and the fifth episode overall.
Premise
Cal and Juliette have a heart-to-heart after seeking a safe haven. A strange threat stalks the school. Negotiations over Elinor's future turn cutthroat.
Summary
The episode starts with a small recap of the last episode where Cal and Juliette runs away from Jules' dad. They hold hands as they run through the city, ending up at the school. Cal's voiceover talks about the insanity of first love as they try the doors around school. Jules jokingly says 'vampires have a trick getting past locked doors' as she smashes a window and, to Cal's surprise, unlocks it.

After a shower, they talk about what they saw on the road. Cal speculates that it might've been some sort of demon like an elemental, and notes that monsters are definetly back in Savannah. Cal then asks what was up with Jules' father, and she responds that she doesn't know and asks to change the subject. Cal asks about the 'breaking and entering', and Jules laughs in response and says she's never even broken a water glass. They hold hands, and agree that they both feel comfortable with each other, doing what they feel like and not what they're expected to do. Cal says it feels like they're connected, even beyond the weird dream.
They enter the assembly hall where there's a theatre setup for Romeo and Juliette. Cal quotes the play and Juliette claps. They joke about the familiarity of the play and their own situation. Cal says she's read the book and been in the play multiple times. They sit on a bed on the set and ask about each other's lives.
- Best friends: Ben and 'used to be' Tess, implying that they were together for a while
- Best memory: Jules came out to ther sister at her sister's first spring break from Emory University, that's when they grew close. Cal notes she might've been queer from the womb, that her mother said it was okay to be gay even when she didn't know it herself (she wanted to marry Bruno Mars)
The conversation takes a halt when Cal asks about Jules favourite food. She apologizes, but Jules says its okay. They call it 'feeding' even if its not really food. They then make a promise to each other, Cal noting that she'll always be a hunter but she won't hunt her and that Jules will never hurt her. Then they kiss. They're interrupted by a loud soud, like a door opening/closing. Jules jokes that it might've been a rat, to which Cal gets visibly more upset about.
The following morning, they wake up in the bed together. Jules checks her phone and Cal says she's glad she forgot hers. Jules scrolls through her messages, where there are 4 missed calls from her dad, her mom is asking where she is and says she needs to come home now, and her sister just says 'really'? Jules asks if Cal is ready, to which she replies 'no' and they laugh. Jules says it'll be okay and says they need to talk to their parent and ask for a day off from the family drama. Cal says her family doesn't work that way, but Jules insists they at least try and say that they'll run away again if they try to pick them up.
Jules calls her mom, and she rushes to get her phone, nodding to Sebastian and Elinor who's sitting in the couch waiting. The scene cuts between the two calling their respective moms, none of them happy about the situation. Jules is more assertive with her family while Cal pushes for her mother's empathic side.
Talia calls Jules a nightcrawler, saying that Cal has lost her mind. Talia says they need to talk at home and Cal asks if they can talk later tonight. Talia gets more upset. She says she's going to come in 15 min, and Cal says 'no'. With a true angry mom voice, Talia says 'what?' and Cal is gets a bit scared, but replies that she's never been a part of any school activity since they keep moving. She says they asked them to paint the sets and asks for one normal day. Talia hesitates.
Margot tries to remind Jules that they're monster hunters and that she is a legacy of the oldest bloodline, and that they would've killed all of them if they knew how. She tells her that they tortured Oliver. Jules says they don't know Cal and that she wouldn't hurt her. Elinor then takes the phone and asks Jules not to screw up her engagement, which she doesn't know about. She jokingly call her 'hunter lover' before her mother takes the phone back and says she's coming to get her. Jules says she's not coming with her and that they need to stay away, and stay away from Cal's family. When she threatens to run away, Margot hold the phone up on speaker and Sebastian takes the phone and asks if she's okay. Jules is taken aback, apologizing for running and asking what happened with him. He replies that he's changing, but not how. She says he can tell her when she gets home, and asks him to keep her mother away, just to have one normal day. He says that she deserves it after her own father scared her as Margot is silently protesting. He says to stay at school and they'll discuss it later that night, then hangs up. He says 'she's safe' to Margot, who angrily replies 'mm' and walks away.

Afterwards, Jules and Cal happily tell each other that they are allowed to stay. Later, when painting the set, Jules jokes that they found the one thing Cal is bad at - painting. Ben, dressed in a chess shirt, arrives and asks to talk to Jules in private. Behind the set, he asks if they're pretending that she's not a vampire and they didn't bury a body. Jules hugs him and calls him a cutie, but he doesn't buy it, asking if she's trying to distract him with his love language and asks her to answer his question. Jules nervously tells him that Cal and she is a thing now. He asks if she's her girlfriend, and she hesitates and says she's not sure about that but at least she's accepting her for who she is. Ben, still upset, asks if that means she's going to floss her fangs. Jules asks him not to be an asshole, and he says he's trying to rain on her glow but is a fan of reality. Playing with humans doesn't make her an actual human, comparing it to playing with a barbie. Jules, hurt by his comment, responds in kind with saying that his reality is Noah, a straight boy with a girlfriend. That he's a sidepiece in a closet he's not coming out of. Ben is visibly upset about it and Jules apologizes, but he tells her to have fun playing make-believe and walks away.

At the Fairmont Estate, Elinor is sitting by her makeup station appyling lipstick when her father knocks on the doors and enters. His cheeks are white and it looks like he's shedding. He tells her she's grown up so fast. She responds that she'll always need him. He wants to talk to the Davenports, and makes a disgusted face. She gets up and they hold hands. He tells her that he really appreciates that she saved his life, but says he doesn't want her to do it. Margot enters and closes the door behind her, telling Sebastian that her mother will hear them talk. He says he can't believe she's comfortable with selling off their daughter to appease her mother. She gets upset and they start to argue, Margot pushing for their stance in the community and Sebastian arguing that its not worth it. Elinor interrupts them, asking them to bring the rage down to a two, and they stay silent. Elinor says she wants the engagement, because she wants what she's always wanted - power. She asks for his blessing, which he gives, but insists that she can change her mind at any time.
With tentions relieved, he says he's not joining differ with Margot's ex, and she asks if Henry is what its really about. She tells him not to be a sore winner. Elinor agrees with her dad, and says he's not presentable when shedding. Margot says that there's never been a made vampire turned into a legacy vampire before. Elinor says she hopes the shedding stops before the wedding. 'No shedding before the wedding', he repeats as he exits the room.
In the Burn's home, Talia is in the gym next to a punching bag. She sends a voice message to Jack, saying that Cal called and that she's in school but doesn't want to come home because she wants a normal day. She throws the phone on the ground and starts to aggressively punch the bag. Jack responds "Right call. Told you she was fine.". Cal also sends her a message saying "Thx 4 letting me stay mom. luv u 🤗".
Back with Elinor, she is complaining that she can't breathe as Davina is helping her put on spanks. She says breathing is overrated and that Tom Davenport won't be able to resist him. She says everything will be fine once they marry, and Elinor makes a joke in response. Davina forcibly turns her around and Margot stands up, ready to defend her. Davina tells her about the importance of the union and Margot steps in, saying that Elinor uses her sense of humor to handle stress. She separates them and says she can't manhandle her anymore without her responding in kind. Davina sighs in return. Elinor starts to chant and joins hands with her mother and grandmother.
"The center of all strength, the home of all desires is the heart. Emerald Malkia willed it so. Staking us will not destroy us. Lilith will always protect us and the Atwoods will forever be the Keepers of the Malkia."
Back at the school, Ben locks the door to the boy's locker room and goes to find Noah. They start to make out, but when Ben unzips Noah's pants, he gently pushes him off and says he only has five minutes before practice. Ben says they'll have five minutes now and more time at his house later, but Noah says he can't because its Phillipas grandmother's 80th birthday. Ben gets upset, asking if he's behind in line of his girlfriends grandmother. Noah sighs and asks 'are we really doing this again', to which Ben says fine. Ben then takes out his phone and takes a picture of him, but Noah gets upset and asks him to delete. Ben asks to at least have something for the spank bank, but Noah says there can't be any evidence since him and Phillipa are getting serious. Ben gets hurt and says he's serious about him too, and asks what they're doing. Noah replies they're hooking up. He says if we wants more, they're done. They struggle over the phone when something very fast runs past them, making them drop the phone as an alarm starts blaring. Noah asks what the hell that was and Ben picks up the phone, seems like they managed to take a picture of whatever it was. They look at the phone, scared at what they're seeing. Ben says Letty will know what it is, and Noah questions why she would know that.
Back by the set, the alarm is also on and the teacher asks them to close the door since they're in lockdown and that they know how it works. Jules tells Cal its the monster alarm. The teacher asks them to get on the floor while she makes a call to make sure its not a drill and walks away. Jules texts Ben, asking where he is and that they both said horrible things. He doesn't respond and Cal says he might just need some time. The teacher confirms its not a drill and that noone leaves until they get the all clear. Ben responds with 'WTF!?" and sends the picture to Jules, who shows it to Cal. She says it looks like orbs, but Cal says they aren't orbs but eyes - its a zombie. Jules looks confused, repeating "Zombie?" in confusion as Cal looks around the room for the teacher. When the teacher steps away, she grabs Jules' arm and they run off.
Downstairs in the Fairmont's house, the matriarchs Davina Atwood and Loretta Davenport are talking by the fireplace. A human comes up, asking if they want B positive (referring to his blood). Davina asks where the AB girl is as Loretta takes a sip. He says he'll have her swing by and Loretta says it was 'divine', then turns to Davina saying that they're free range. Davina says she envies the canadians, saying the population willing to be blood slaves is almost non-existant. Loretta jokes they're only a work-visa away, then asks how she thinks its going with Elinor and Tom. They turn to look at them, and Davina says its looking like its going well. Loretta then asks, now that its just us chickens, how the hunting party found them in Savannah. Davina lies and says the threat has been neutralized and that Juliette lead the charge, which Loretta questions. She also asks about the Emerald Malkia, and Davina assures her she's unharmed. She insists that the finds out how they found her, and says 'The council' is a abuzz. Davina says the situation is under control.
As Margot corrects Henry Davenport's tie, he says he's been feeding on them for 300 years so you'd think he should know how to do it himself. She says its okay and apologizes, saying it was indefensible to leave him at the altar like that. She says she doesn't know why she wasn't more honest sooner and he replies that her mother wouldn't have allowed it. They share a meaningful look and he says he eventually understood, and that despite their upbringing he believes in love. He then asks if Sebastian is not joining them and she says he's still recovering. After asking her to give him his regards, he smiles and holds out his hands, saying they're friends. Margot is a bit surprised, but joins his hands and says they'll be in-laws if everything goes as planned.

Tom asks if Elinor has been in Argentina, and she says she hasn't. He says he spent time there after Boston, and she asks if it was Harvard. He says he was an undergrad in business school. He talks about how the blood in Buenos Aires is divine. Elinor, not that impressed, replies politely that he'll have to take her there sometime. He kisses her hand, saying 'anything for my bethrod'. She asks to cut to the chase, asking what he wants from the engagement and to not say its about love nonsense. He laughs and says who needs love when you have power? She says appreciatively 'a man who isn't intimidated by a powerful woman?', and he replies with 'with an issue or two' which makes her raise her eyebrows in surprise. He says the word on the street is that the Keeper isn't up for the job. He says he heard it from someone who heard it from her brother. At the mention of her brother, she gets upset and says he's a pathological liar with mommy issues. The B positive free range blood slave interrupts and asks if they want to taste. They each take an arm, and Tom says 'To Marriages' and Elinor replies 'To First Marriages' and they take a bite together.
In the boy's locker room, Noah is flipping out about being caught together with Ben. Ben tries to reassure him since they're friends and hang out with the same people. Noah tries to leave, but Ben physically stops him and tells him he thinks there might be a monster out there. Noah says that's insane, as there hasn't been monsters in Savannah in decades and he's never seen one. Ben says the 'no monsters in a decade'-thing might not be true and ask him to stay put until Jules answers him. Noah panics and repeats that he can't get caught with him. Ben gets sad and notes that Letty was right. He says to Noah that the saddest part is that he knows he likes him, since he's the one he calls after too many beers (White Claws) and the one he sends random cute dog memes. The one he facetimes as 3am. He continues that he's better than some hookup in a random musty gym. "Maybe life gets better for you.. but it won't get better than me." Noah replies with repeating that they're not in a relationship and never was, never will be, then leaves. Ben stays, trying to keep his composure.
Noah walks alone in the school and stops to look behind him as a growl is heard.

Jules and Cal are one floor below. Jules hopes Ben didn't get close to the monster in the picture. Cal tells her to try and focus and stay light on her feet. Zombies being slow is an urban myth, real zombies are very fast and deadly. To Jules' surprise, Cal smashes a safety glass holder with her elbow and grabbing the fire axe inside it. Jules asks how she knows all this and Cal responds that she comes from a family of monster hunters. By the time she was 6, she was asking Mall Santa for a Katana. They hear Noah yelling "Get away from me!" and run to help.
Noah is in a corridor, turning several times to try and see the monster but the zombie is too fast. When the zombie slashes his chest, he starts to run and yell for help. He bashes and jerks on the locked doors but noone opens. At the end of the hall, the zombie pushes him to the ground. He tries to crawl away but the zombie rips his spine out and kills him.

Moments later, Jules and Cal arrive at the other end of the corridor. They run up to Noah, but stop once they realize he's dead. After a few seconds, they turn to look at each other and Cal reassures Jules, stating she's safe with her. "I got you." Jules replies "I know", still looking at Noah's dead body. "I've got you too" she says and they nod at each other. They turn and start to run after the zombie.
Back at the Fairmont Residence, Elinor gives her father a jug of blood and tells him to drink up since she needs to get back downstairs. Sebastian is pacing the room while drinking and she comments 'someone was hungry'. He says he's starving no matter what he eats. She texts that she'll be back down in a min since Dad was hungry while saying to her father that she wishes there was more, but that Davenport woman can really throw back the CCs. He replies that she's repulsive. He asks about her son, and Elinor replies that he seemed kind of cool. Sebastian stiffens and says "You can't be serious" , but Elinor insists he's kind of funny and that he's making Margot laugh. Sebastian, now looking scared, asks if they're real laughs or polite ones, to which Elinor replies "Dad, really?". He then tries to go down, but Elinor stops him since he'll ruin the engagement for her. He submits and changes the subject, asking if she likes Tom. She smiles and says he's a tool, but one she can use. He urges her to be careful since 'those hyenas' have more reason to use her. She scoffs, but he continues that her grandmother is one of them and that she won't protect her. She gets a text from her mom and says she needs to leave. He repeats that she can get out at any point. She says she loves him and leaves.
Talia arrives in a black ford mustang at the Fairmont's house and Margot goes out to "greet" her. Margot asks if its a sequel to the other night, as she doesn't have time or patience to let her live since her husband almost died. Talia retorts with that her best friends (Mike and Sarah Franklin) were murdered and their daughter Tess has noone now. Margot replies with "Whose fault is that?" and Talia changes the subject. She says she's going to pick up her daughter from school and Margot interrupts her, telling her Cal isn't at their home. She tells her she assumes she got the same call she did this morning, Talia replying "Let me stay at school and I promise to come home" and Margot continues "Try to pick me up and Cal and I will run". Talia says "mine was smart enough to leave that out" and Margot swallows some anger. Talia says she just wants her daughter home, that she doesn't know about the Franklins yet. Margot says she also didn't share that Jules father was really sick last night after they nearly killed him. Talia says she wants a truce, until their daughters are where they should be. Margot replies with "of course, but that its not that simple." She looks back at the house, where Henry Davenport is looking for her. Talia says it is that simple, she spotted two armed guards in the trees so they're obviously safe. Margot says she'll keep her family at bay and to not make her out to be a fool. Talia replies that she won't underestimate her if she doesn't underestimate her. Margot gives her a quick, fake smile and turn around. Talia takes a last opportunity to yell to her to "give Oliver her regards". Margot slows down but doesn't stop. Talia leaves.
Inside, Margot is greeted by Henry Davenport. Margot puts on a fake smile and he says it looked tense, asking if everything is okay. Margot lies and tells him a new neighbour was asking about shopping in the historic district. He smiles, saying its quaint how she still bonds with humans. She replies that she plays one in real life. He ponders and says they're so frail. He says if he'd been a different kind of monster, he might've ripped out Sebastian's throat. As he turns to walk back to the others, Margot stands stunned with a look of fright. Davina asks everyone to gather and she puts on a fake smile.
Cal and Jules run into the cafeteria where they find the zombie trying to get into a locked door. Cal asks Jules if she's ready and she nods in response. Jules walk first, dodging the zombie's first attack and push her into Cal's swinging axe. She hits it in the stomach but it flails and the axe gets thrown on the ground. Cal dodges a few swings but has to throw herself on the ground. She quickly turn and acrobatically kicks the zombie in the head while getting up. Jules comes to the rescue by hitting it with a tray, but the zombie is too strong, taking the tray and pushing Jules back. It then turns to Cal, grabbing her by the throat. They struggle while Jules gets back, kicking and punching it until Cal is let go and manages to push the zombie on its back. Just as Jules is about to kick it in its head, the zombie catches her foot.
"Jules, its your girl, Smashley" the zombie says, saying she scared her when they broke into the theater last night. Jules hesitates, whispering "Ashley?". Cal looks between them, confused. Zombie-Ashley says she was running her lines when they came in, since she's Lady Montague. She quotes a line from the play, then asks Jules if she can take her home while standing up. She says she can't find her home since she keeps getting lost. She asks if she can call her phone, as she can't find that either. Jules backs away slowly. Cal gets a flashback from her first attempt at a first kill, where a monster tried to get her to lower her guard by impersonating her mother. Cal tries to get Jules to understand that its not the Ashley she knew. When Jules turns to look at Cal, zombie-Ashley takes her chance and grabs Jules by the throat, prompting Jules to bare her fangs. The zombie says "Nothing feels normal anymore" and Cal attacks her with the axe once more (which we assume she picked up). Cal uses the momentum to push Jules out of the zombie's grip, but it retaliates and slashes her across the chest. This time, Cal gets the upper hand and swings the axe across the zombies throat, beheading and killing it. A stunned Jules looks on.
Back at the Fairmont's residence, the Davenports and Atwood women are gathered as Davina reads the terms of the engagement. She says the Emerald Malkia is the one who should concecrate the union and the sole autority to dissolve it. Loretta Davenport says there's only one thing left, that she wants proof that after Juliettes "shit show" consecration the Emerald Malkia is safe and not ensconced in some hunter's herpetarium. Davina smiles and says 'no'. Loretta says there can be no union without proof. Margot turns to Davina and agrees, saying that perhaps there shouldn't be a union. Davina goes on to say that another family, the Sugimotos, have a son named Akio that is kind, handsome and twice their wealth. He also took a 16 hour flight from Tokyo to bring Elinor peonies. Elinor revels in the compliment. Loretta stands up, saying that Davina has insulted her, but Davina responds that her request insults her. She tells the boys to fetch their servants. Davina says that she has influence but she'll never have the power she wants without the Malkia. After a few tense moments, Loretta says she'll assume the mother serpent is safe and sits back down.
She then asks about heirs, saying they'll require seven. Davina responds with "five, unless the first is a girl, then they'll only need three". Elinor, a bit concerned, asks "what if the first three are sons?" and Davina replies that they'll just have to keep trying then since its her responsibility to carry on the Atwood lineage. Elinor irritably comments that she's agreeable to heirs, but she won't sign a contract stating she'll have ten kids. Davina asks her to stop and Tom puts his hand on her lap, whispering that they can agree to the terms, get the loot, and work out the details later. She angrily puts his hand back on his own lap and he bares his fangs and hisses in return. Elinor rolls her eyes and Margot stares at him. Elinor turns to Loretta, saying that she just wants the contract and the expectations to align. Loretta asks "why is she speaking?" and questions if anyone in the family respects protocol. Davina tries to get Elinor's attention, but Elinor turns to Margot and says she needs to speak to her dad. Margot replies "of course" and Elinor leaves, the rest of the group staring at her. Davina tells Margot to continue with the next item and follows her upstairs.
Jules and Cal stare at the zombie. Jules stutters "It-it wasn't her" and Cal agrees. Jules then notices that Cal was hurt, stepping closer with a concerned look and asking if she's alright. Cal looks down, but then looks at the zombie and happily notes that she got her first kill. Jules instead stares at Cal's wound, stating "that's a lot of blood". She keeps stepping back, breathing heavily and unable to take her eyes off the blood. Cal finally notices and asks if she's okay. Jules says she was fine with Noah's blood, but with Cal's, its bad. Cal shakes her head and gently grabs Jules' head saying that she knows its bad, but she know she doesn't want to hurt her. Jules says "of course" and tries to compose herself, removing Cal's hand. They turn to the zombie, Jules saying they need to move the body before the final bell.
Davina reprimands Elinor for her childish behaviour, but Elinor says she's changed her mind. She won't move to Toronto to pimp out her uterus. Davina then insults her and says she's as useless as her deranged brother and anemic sister. Elinor runs upstairs and Davina tries to keep a straight face to the Davenports.
Upstairs, Sebastian meets Elinor and asks if she's changed her mind. She blurts out "yeah" and hugs him. She asks him where he was going, and he stutters but admits that he was trying to overhear the conversation. He asks her to tell him what happened, but Davina gets up the stairs. He stops her, saying Elinor's done and that she needs to back off. She says he's in no position to demand anything of her. She tries to speak to Elinor, but Sebastian says he's had enough of her insulting his family, He mockingly says "looks like her inferior genes won" and he and Elinor walk into her bedroom. Davina hisses and follows them.
Elinor panics, saying she can't breathe, and Sebastian tries to stop Davina once more. They argue and both get more upset, until Sebastian raises his voice and Davina slaps him. Elinor flinches and Sebastian stares angrily at her. Davina again tries to get Elinor to come down, this time physically grabbing her. Elinor resists and Sebastian separates them, getting very angry. His eyes then turn green, his teeth all turn to fangs and he eats her. Elinor looks on, stunned.
Talia arrives at the school, upset/confused when there's police there. There's multiple police cars and upset parents outside.

In the woods, Cal looks at the zombie's head inside a bag and is happy about her first kill. She asks Jules to check the body, but she's staring at Cal with bloodlust. Cal stands up and repeats herself. Jules shakes it off and checks the duffle bag. Inside, the zombie is dissolving into ashes. Cal sighs and asks why it couldn't have done that before they carried it. She says that once they find Noah's body, everyone will know that monsters are back in Savannah. Jules is still trying to compose herself, breathing slowly and trying not to look at Cal.
"You have to go", she says, but Cal insists that she has to fight it. She snaps back, saying she's trying. Cal stands up and steps back. Jules tries to hold on to the duffle bag but slowly stands up, staring at her. Cal snaps a shovel in two and points the wooden end to Jules chest as she lunges at her. Jules steps back, her fangs bared. Jules says "you know that won't kill me", but Cal tries to talk to her, asking her to remember the bee on her shoulder when she invited her to Noah's party. She continues to try and appeal to her human side, with Jules fighting to keep calm. Jules struggles to tell her to go and Cal backs away, the stick shaking in her hand.
Back with Sebastian and Elinor, he burps loudly and Elinor throws him a towel. Margot enters the room, saying the Davenports are restless. She slows down, confused, asking "What in Lillith's name..". Sebastian stammers and tries explain what happened. When Margot asks where her mother is now, he says he ate her and his stomach grumbles. Stunned, Margot asks him again "You.. ate my mother?", to which he nods. She turns to Elinor, who stares at her in response. Margot says she didn't even know that was possible. Sebastian tells her that they've built an amazing life together, that she turned him when he was sick and she gave up everything for him. He says that his family (not including Oliver) is everything to him and he will never tolerate an attack of any kind on them. Margot looks at him lovingly, and ponders what to say for a few moments. She then turns to Elinor, telling her to tell the Davenports that they've changed their minds. Elinor, still a bit upset, asks if she's sure. Margot says that she's now the Keeping-In-Waiting and the decision is hers. Sebastian smiles and Elinor smiles in relief, thanking her. Elinor leaves and Margot looks with concern on Sebastian. She walks up to him and kisses him, reassuring him.
Cal is backing away from Jules when suddenly Oliver grabs her. He says "Death follows you everywhere" and Jules runs up, yelling to him to let her go. He pushes her towards her and Cal positions herself behind Jules. Carmen, sitting next to the duffel bags, says "aw, they broke our zombie". Juliette asks hesitantly if Oliver killed Ashley. Oliver, first looking down on the ground in shame looks up at Juliette. She asks how she could do that to her [Ashley] and he responds that he did it for her [Jules]. Carmen walk behind them, Cal following her movement, and she stands next to Oliver. He says they've been there for months and he noticed that Margot were buying blood pills in back alleys. Since he knew they weren't for Elinor it meant Jules wasn't eating. He says he's been there and understands that she was really hungry so he wanted to help her. He says he then went to the party and found an easy target and left her a present. He thought a fresh corpse would trigger her bloodlust. Cal looks on in surprise but doesn't lower her guard. He then jokes that once she's dead, why not make her a zombie - to which he and Carmen laughs. He also notes that Carmen needed a human liver for an elixir.
Jules, at the verge of tears, compares him to their sister and says they both tried to force her to bite someone even though she didn't want to. Oliver gets angry and says he's nothing like her. Cal then realizes and says that she remembers seeing Carmen both at the party and in the middle of the road. Olives notes that she has a good memory and that she now owes them a zombie, so they should make her into a replacement. He hisses and fake lunges at her, but Jules confidently steps in front of him, holding out her arms to protect Cal. "She won't be replacing anything." Oliver throws his hands in defeat and paces back. Jules, still not taking her eyes off Oliver, tells Cal to run since she knows Oliver won't hurt her. Cal grabs her arm, saying she won't leave her. Carmen asks if Oliver can't tell her sister is in love, and Oliver hesitates and looks at the couple. Jules pleads to Cal to go, finally pushing her away.
Jules' voiceover says its impossible to be immune to the insanity of first love, mimiking the voiceover in the beginning of the episode. Cal runs away and Jules turns back to Oliver and Carmen with disappointment. Oliver looks down, considering his next move. She asks him why he came back and he says "I thought you'd never ask". He says he wants Elinors head on a stake, saying that he doesn't know what their parents told her but Elinor is the one that made them throw him away. She sighs and crosses her arms in response, but grows concerned when he continues saying that he wants her to help him make her pay for her sins. She asks if he's insane and he insists that he isn't. He then says that he can turn her into a human. She looks between him and Carmen, hesitating. Carmen says there's a spell for that. Oliver says that if she helps him, he can make her and Cal live happily ever after - no strings attached. The episode ends with Jules considering the option.
