Taras (also known as Talas in the fan translation) is a region on the Etrurian/Sacaen border in westernmost Sacae filled with mountains and valleys. The region appears in Chapter 17B (the Sacaen route) of Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade. Castle Taras guards the entrance to the Sacean plains beyond.
Etymology
Taraz, also known as Talas, is a city in Kazakhstan. Here, the Battle of Talas took place between the Umayyad Caliphate and the Tang Empire in the 7th century, ending in a Chinese loss and the end of Chinese influence in Central Asia.
