The trooper helmet is a piece of headwear in Fallout: New Vegas.
Characteristics
It is a dully colored helmet with a pair of goggles located on the brim, and a pack of Pyramid cigarettes in the loop of the helmet. It has a very rough "mass-produced" look to it, as it is issued to all NCR soldiers and MPs. The DT even at max condition is low.
Variants
Locations
- Most NCR troopers will spawn with this as their primary headgear.
- Some convicts and the convict leader in Primm may wear it.
- Powder Gangers wear it frequently.
Behind the scenes
- According to Joshua Sawyer, the helmets "likely would have used metal with a cloth over the top, which was fairly common in the 20th century."[1]
- According to Brian Menze, who made the concept for the Ranger, he "used a pith helmet for the design" when he was putting the outfit together.[1]
Bugs
Sometimes, the trooper helmet will be on the side of the player character's head. Reloading a save or entering/exiting a building should fix this. [verified]
