The beret is a piece of headwear in Fallout: New Vegas.
Characteristics
A beret is a soft round cap, usually of wool felt, with a flat crown that tilts to one side. The New California Republic use green berets to identify officers of the New California Republic Army. The beret seems to be camouflaged in various shades of green and brown and has a cap badge of the NCR two-headed bear roaring up at a gold star.

- 1st Recon beret - A red beret worn by members of First Recon.

- Inside the ruined store in a duffle bag.
The following people wear berets:
- Layla wears one.
- Several NCR officers.
- A generic NCR trooper on the Strip can be found wearing a beret. Kill them or reverse-pickpocket a better item of headgear to get it.
- Lt. Haggerty outside HELIOS One.
- It is very easy to reverse pickpocket a green beret from Captain Parker (while he is sleeping) at Aerotech Office Park.
- Captain Curtis in the Camp McCarran terminal building during the I Put a Spell on You quest wears a beret.
- Colonel Hsu and Lieutenant Boyd in Camp McCarran.
- Major Dhatri outside Camp McCarran.
- Lieutenant Hayes in Primm.
- Major Knight at the Mojave Outpost wears one.
Colonel Royez at the Long 15 wears a green beret and Scorched Sierra power armor.
Notes
- When dropped, this beret, along with the 1st Recon beret, will be as thin as a piece of paper and become extremely bouncy, causing it to easily be lost.
- The green beret uses the same Pip-Boy icon as the 1st Recon beret.
