Water (水流 Wōtā) is a Caster Magic and a variation of Water Magic which utilizes the element of water.
Description
A form of Magic revolving around the element of water, placed under the user's command for them to utilize for various purposes. Depending on its use, the physical properties of water can be manipulated to the user's advantage; large masses of such liquid are shown to possess remarkable force, capable of inflicting blunt damage upon targets by sweeping them away with water.[1]
This variation differs from Water Magic by having more versatility in controlling the shape of the water, forming slashes and blasting water at high pressure. A similar effect can be achieved using high-pressure currents, which, due to their reduced size, focus the damage on smaller areas.[2] Pressure is also manipulable to a great extent, enough that when it is focused on the outer sides of the water surfaces being controlled, the liquid can become an effective cutting weapon—mirroring a real blade.[3] Whirlpools generated on the ground by this Magic, combining rotatory force and slicing power, can easily reduce solid rock to pieces.[4] The user is also able to erect domes of water around foes, in order to knock them out by depriving them of air.[5]
Mages specializing in Water can also achieve an extra, extremely versatile avenue of usage for such Magic: turning their own bodies into water at will. Such a peculiar employment allows them to become impervious to both physical and magical attacks, which merely pass through them without harming them. In addition, the water from the user's body itself can be used as a medium to cast other spells related to this Magic,[6] as well as have its properties altered, with the user being capable of making it boil without causing any damage to themselves.[7] While unaffected by most types of offences, however, Mages with a body solely composed of water are still susceptible to freezing, which can immobilize them[8] and inflict damage upon them.[9] This intangibility is also limited to the amount of Magic Power the user has or when being dehydrated thus making them vulnerable to physical attacks and would need an external source of water to replenish themselves and regain their liquefied body.[10]
This Magic also appears to be tied to the user's emotional state, negative feelings causes it to constantly rain around the area of the water mage with little to no control over to stop it.[11][12][13] Feelings of enraged also causes the caster's water attacks to boil, enough scold one's skin, as well as melt the ice of Molding Magic,[14] which withstood fiery explosions.[15] Of course, the boiling water can still be frozen by ice mages who can reach much colder temperatures.[16]
As a result of the liquid form granted to them, the most experienced users of this Magic can seemingly breathe underwater, at the same time being able to encase oxygen in spheres of water for others to emulate such behavior.[17]
Despite ice effects being a known weakness against this type of Magic, both attributes are also highly compatible when used harmoniously in together.[18] The water Mage's liquid form can also be frozen and reshaped into various weapons by Ice-Make users.[19]
