Duke Grane (듀크 그레인) was a student from the World Awakened Academy, serving as a minor antagonist in the Korean Awakened Academy Duel Part 2 Arc. He is one of the strongest rookies, being part of the Top 10 in the World Awakened Academy, until his betrayal where he changed sides and was revealed to be part of The Frame. He is known as a prodigy in the Grane Family.[1] His mentor is also then revealed to be The World Top 10's Schnauder.
Appearance
Duke Grane has silver/white-colored hair, parted in his right side. He has crimson red eyes. He dawns a muscular build and is a very tall man.
He is usually seen wearing the World Awakened Academy’s uniform, faded blue colored jacket and bottoms with teal highlights.
Personality
Duke facades a friendly and charismatic personality, but is an arrogant and a rather brutal individual. According to Arthur, Duke masks a laid-back and gentle personality due to his strong power and background, acting pretentious while looking down on everyone, possibly because he was raised with a golden spoon. Once that narcissistic front is threatened, he quickly drops the act and displays a vicious side to him, especially when in battle. After his battle with Jiwoo, Duke dropped the "good guy" act altogether.
Duke is very aware of politics in the awakened world and importance of reputation amongst the most prestigious families. As such, he conveyed multiple warnings to Jiwoo to take caution while going against the young prodigies of WWA, albeit likely to his own benefit, as Jiwoo's loss would tarnish his own status as well.
Later, he developed an inferiority complex towards Seo Jiwoo. This inferiority was so severe that it was almost like an obsession, and it got even worse after his master and senior said he couldn't beat Jiwoo even when in primary, simply because of the gap in their talents.
Abilities and Fighting Prowess
Duke's abilities include super speed just like Jiwoo but Duke is not as fast as Jiwoo since speed is not Duke's primary ability. Duke coordinates his super speed with his secondary abilities which enhances him overall. It is also used for creating red, homing, arrow-like missiles consisting of awakened power. His combat skills are refined to a degree where he is ranked as the strongest student in the World Academy.
