Eric Darnell (born August 21, 1961) is an animator, artist, director, and writer, best known for his work with DreamWorks Animation in general, particularly the Madagascar franchise. He started his career at Pacific Data Images , he worked as director on short films like "Gas Planet" and "Big Smoke" he also directed DreamWorks' first CG film, Antz with Tim Johnson . He worked with Tom McGrath on The Penguins of Madagascar for DreamWorks Television and Nickelodeon.
