Schmidt

One half of the notoriously attractive duo, 'Schmando,' Schmidt (Mononymous) is known to be the mysterious one of the duo.

He is named after Schmidt from New Girl (played by Max Greenfield), because Julia accidentally drew his likeness with preternatural exactitude while attempting to draw an original character in the 2018 Drawfee episode Artists Try To Draw The Most Handsome Man hosted by herself, Jacob Andrews, and Karina Farek.

Lore

In the webcomic series Hot Guy P.I.,^[5] written and illustrated by Karina, Schmidt works as a private investigator alongside Romeo Fernando 'Nando' Sy.

Schmidt is a Virgo. He has a severe fear of knives and other blades, after having witnessed a knife fight. He used to smoke before kicking the habit by chewing on vegetables, but he does sometimes go back to cigarettes.

He does not have any known family, although he does have a knife-loving dog with Nando, named Watson due to their jobs as detectives.^[6] He has met Nando's ex-partner, Daniella, as well as their daughter Nadia. He has established a good relationship with Nadia and takes part in her interests. Nadia also has a crush on Schmidt, which he is unaware of.

Biography

Schmidt attended college, during which he made friends with a person named Jenny. They stayed in touch as Instagram mutuals.

Schmidt is an Instagram model, but eventually became a private investigator. Early on in this new career, he met Nando after paying for a rideshare service from him. He asked Nando to work with him, thus beginning their partnership at Hot Guy Private Investigation Services.^[7]

Schmidt and Nando's first client together was the YouTuber deenaVLOGS, who hired them to retrieve her dog from a local pizzeria. However, it turned out that every time somebody got close to her dog in the alley next to that building, a different dog would become very aggressive towards them. When the pair went to fend off this dog, it grabbed a knife and stabbed Nando, at which Schmidt promptly became terrified. They regrouped and retrieved both dogs, eventually returning Deena's, while Nando kept "knife dog" for himself, naming it Watson.^[8]

Some time later, Schmidt noticed that Jenny had stopped posting to her Instagram account, and she wasn't returning his messages, which told him something was very wrong. After breaking into her apartment with Nando, they found objects uncharacteristically strewn about. There, they figured out that Jenny was attacked by an unnamed perpetrator, who also attacked Nando with a knife, threatening his life. Schmidt became very nervous, but they were saved by Schmidt signaling Watson to steal the attacker's knife, allowing Schmidt to call the police. They arrested the person, who revealed that he was actually working for somebody. Nando found a card that fell out of the criminal's pocket with a yellow and blue logo, leading to their next case.^[9]
