The battle axe is a recurring weapon in the Dragon Quest series. It is often a mid-ranking axe.

The battle axe has an attack bonus of +60 (+40 in the NES Version). It can only be equipped by a Warrior. They can be bought for 2,500 gold and sold for 1,875 gold.

Dragon Quest IV

The battle-axe has an attack bonus of +50. They can be bought for 5,500 gold in Riverton and Rosehill. Battle axes sell for 4,125 gold. The HeroRagnar, and Psaro can equip them.

Dragon Quest V

The battle axe has an attack bonus of +45. Can be bought for 4,000 gold in Stockenbarrel and sold for 3,000. SanchoBrownieEliminatorGigantes, and Orc King can equip it.

Dragon Quest VI

Has attack bonus of +49 and a style bonus of +15. Can be bought in ArkboltClearvale, Swanstone, and Turnscote for 4,300 gold. They can be sold for 3,225 gold. Axesauruses and Tyrantosauruses drop them. The HeroCarverAmosTerry, and Lizzie can equip them.

Dragon Quest VII

The battleaxe has an attack bonus of +49 and an appearance bonus of +15. It can be equipped by the HeroKiefer, and Aishe. They can be bought for 6,500 gold and sold for 3,250 gold.

Dragon Quest VIII

The battle-axe has an attack bonus of +45. It can only be equipped by Yangus. They can be bought for 4,300 gold in Argonia and sold for 2,150 gold.
