The Flower

"The Flower" is an episode of Wander Over Yonder. It aired on June 20, 2016.

Synopsis

Sylvia scours the destroyed galaxy to save a rare flower and cheer up Wander.

Plot

Wander and Sylvia are on a desolate planet and find no signs of other surviving planets. As Sylvia panics, she realizes that Wander has been quietly crying. Believing that he has lost all hope, she spots a flower and tells Wander that as long as the flower is still blooming that that means there is still hope in the galaxy. The flower begins to wilt and she and Wander proceed to try and keep the flower up and blooming by getting it water, sunlight and even resorting to plant food, only to put it in a "plant food coma".

They decide to take the flower to another planet and end up at various locals that all turn out to be less than ideal, especially when they keep encountering giant bees. After traveling to planet after planet, they finally find an idyllic one that has the perfect conditions and the flower finally blooms. However, Lord Dominator finds them and becomes determined to make them miserable again. She fires onto Wander and Sylvia as they take the flower and flee into space. They end up getting knocked around, during which the flower begins to spread seeds on each destroyed planet.

Dominator finally catches up to Wander and Sylvia and taunts them by plucking the flower and taking a selfie with their sad faces. However, the flower squirts pollen onto her face and she begins to sneeze. Wander and Sylvia grab the flower and run while Dominator is unable to send her Dom-Bots after them because of her sneezing. Later, Wander and Sylvia discover the flower has died and crumbles into seeds. Wander tells Sylvia that he has not given up hope and that they will find a way to stop Dominator. As they continue traveling through space, the seeds begin to grow on all the planets.

End credits

Dominator continues to sneeze until one of her Dom-Bots offers her a handkerchief.
