"The Egg" is the first segment of the eighth episode of American Dragon: Jake Long.
Plot
Jake, Trixie and Spud receive an assignment to take care of an egg and treat it as if it were their own kids, but Jake has another assignment where he has to take care of a griffin egg.
Fu Dog gies with him to take care of the griffin egg, but the Huntsman and Huntsgirl steal it. Jake grabs Fu Dog and flies to the Huntsman, and they start fighting on a hoverboard. While they fight, the egg gets dropped and although Fu Dog tries to catch it, he misses. Jake and Fu leap down and land on a playground. They find the egg, but right on top of them is the Huntsgirl.
Jake and Fu run into a kitchen to hide, but the chef needs an egg for an omelet for a special person, and grabs the egg. Jake and Fu Dog run into a fair, with the Huntsman and Huntsgirl close behind them. Jake and Fu Dog go to a peanut butter factory, where chocolate eggs are made and filled with peanut butter. The egg lands and gets mixed up with the rest.
The Huntsman and Huntsgirl are forced to retreat, leaving Jake and Fu Dog licking eggs to find the griffin egg. When they find it, they are both very full from all the chocolate eggs they consumed. Picking up the egg to fly back, the Huntsman once again appears to try and grab it, but it falls out of their hands again. It lands in Spud's backpack, forcing the assignment egg to fall on the floor, which leaves everyone to believe it is the griffin egg.
When Jake and Fu Dog inspect the egg they found, it turns out to be the one they were assigned, so Jake goes to retrieve the real griffin egg. Finally, they give it back to the mother griffin just before it hatches, but the mother swallows the baby griffin whole. Jake is disgusted, and Fu Dog informs him that griffin mothers protect their young by keeping them inside their stomachs until they are older.
