Miho is a character featured in the 2020 Disney/Pixar animated feature film Soul.
Background
Miho serves as a bassist as one of the members of Dorothea Williams' band, the Dorothea Williams Quartet. She is shown to be with Dorothea at occasions where Dorothea appears throughout the film, though not much of her personality is known other than being a musician.
Role in the film
Miho is first seen performing in Dorothea Williams' band at the Half Note Club while Joe Gardner plays on the piano to help him audition for Dorothea's band. However, during performance, Miho and the rest of Dorothea's band stare at Joe where Dorothea tells him that he needs a suit for him to perform at the Club.
Miho later appears again where she, Dorothea, and Curley approach Joe and 22 controlling the bodies of Mr. Mittens and the real Joe respectively which the two managing to board the taxi where they are riding at. She then appears again where she observes Joe wearing a suit while asking Dorothea accept him for the gig at the Half Note Club. Miho then plays the gig with Dorothea, Curley, and Joe at the Half Note Club where the audience cheers for their performance. She makes no further appearances after leaving the club with the drummer after the show.
Trivia
- Though Esther Chae was credited as the voice of Miho in the film (which was supposedly reported that Chae recorded dialogues for Miho in a promotional image showcasing her), the character herself actually had no spoken lines in the final version of the film. The reason why Miho had no lines in the final version of the film is unknown.
- It is possible that Curley and Miho are close or even dating, from the way they left the club together after the gig.
