- “Ah... Queen Grimhilde chained me here when I tried to rescue a pure-hearted maiden! Only one thing can free me... but I'm unable to reveal what that is!”
- ―Fairy Fawn reveals her plight to the Dwarfs[src]
Fairy Fawn is a character created by Guido Martina and Romano Scarpa, appearing in the comic story "The Captive Fairy's Quest" in 1959 (translated and collected by Fantagraphics in 2024).
The evil Queen Grimhilde, furious with Snow White's happiness, conjures a magical storm and throws a lightning bolt at the young princess. However, a nearby fawn leaps in front of the attack, saving Snow White's life. The Seven Dwarfs later learn the fawn was actually the Fairy Fawn, a beautiful fairy that became imprisoned by the Evil Queen. She agrees to help the Dwarfs in their mission to free her.
After a lengthy adventure, Dopey manages to save Fairy Fawn at the cost of his own life. The fairy leaves Queen Grimhilde to perish under falling debris. In her fawn form, she guides Snow White to the Dwarfs, who are mourning Dopey. Snow White's kisses and tears restore Dopey back to life.
