"Do the Roo" is a song which was used in "Do the Roo," a story from The Book of Pooh. Roo wanted to impress Kanga with a dance for her birthday present but didn't have confidence in his dancing skills, so Pooh, Piglet, and Rabbit tried to teach him how to dance. In the end, Kanga showed Roo a special dance, and they sang "Do the Roo." Soon, Pooh, Piglet, Rabbit, and Tigger joined in.
"Do the Roo" was featured as Track 4 on the album, Songs from The Book of Pooh.
Lyrics
Kanga:
Take a step, or make a hop
Shake your tail, or let it drop
'Cause any move you choose to do
You'll be doin' the Roo
Roo:
The Roo?
Kanga:
Sure!
Roo:
You mean like this?
Take a step and then a hop
Kanga:
Yeah!
Once you start, it's hard to stop
Roo:
Come on, Mama, join in too
Look! We're doin' the Roo
Kanga and Roo:
Do the Roo
Do do do the Roo
Do the Roo
Do do do the Roo
Do the Roo
Do do do the Roo
Do the Roo
Do do do the Roo
Do the Roo
Do do do the Roo
Do the Roo
Do do do the Roo
Do the Roo
Do do do the Roo
Look, we're doin' the Roo!
Kanga:
Just take a hop, a skip, or a jump
'Cause any move's okay
Roo:
How 'bout a boink, a bounce and a bop?
Kanga:
You do the Roo your way
Roo:
My way!
Kanga:
Any which way
Throw out your compass
Roo:
Swing your partner
Do a wild rompus
Kanga and Roo:
How you move is up to you
When you're doin' the Roo
Kanga:
Ah!
Kanga, Roo, Pooh, Piglet, Rabbit and Tigger:
Do the Roo
Do do do the Roo
Do the Roo
Do do do the Roo
Do the Roo
Do do do the Roo
Do the Roo
Do do do the Roo
Do the Roo
Do do do the Roo
Do the Roo
Do do do the Roo
Do the Roo
Do do do the Roo
We're all doin' the Roo!
