Oris was a senior and high-ranking cleric of the Cathedral of Light. She was a personal assistant to the Veiled Prophet himself, along with Gamuel.
Oris was an elderly woman and, though she could easily have passed for the Prophet's grandmother, she was both attracted and deeply devoted to him. Oris had been a beautiful woman when she was younger; still the Prophet had, of course, never taken notice of her.
Eventually the Prophet did kiss Oris, though it was only a 'grazing of the lips' - this left her stunned, allowing the vile priest Malic to possess her body before she could even utter a scream. Oris then lead the charge against the Edyrem, though her spirit had in fact already passed on.
