In the Fetid Swamp, light doesn't reach the floor, and dense fog permeates the air above the dark water.[1] Dangerous creatures dwell in the Fetid Swamp,[2] and they drag unwitting victims to their death.[1]
After the defeat of the Countess, the Sisterhood of the Sightless Eye made efforts to cleanse the swamp of monsters. To this end, they requested aid from adventurers in Westmarch.[2]
