Willbreaker

Willbreaker was the sword of Oryx, the Taken King. It was used to activate the Dreadnought's super weapon, pushing Oryx's throne world into the physical world. Oryx's sword is a symbol of the sword logic that empowers him and the rest of the hive due to his bargain with the Worm Gods. This sword logic is the notion that only the strong can survive until there is one species left, the final shape.

Oryx told his sister Savathûn that he is the proof that sword logic is the only means of power, however, this was disproven when he was killed in his throne world by guardians using bomb logic. After defeating Oryx in the physical world in the Regicide mission, Eris Morn destroyed Willbreaker and took the crystal core. The superiority of the sword logic crumbled when Willbreaker did, as Oryx was defeated by the sword logic in Regicide and then killed in his throne world by bomb logic in King's Fall.

It was reforged into the Sol Edge, Void Edge, or Arc Edge swords after Oryx's defeat at the hands of a Guardian.

History

Oryx's sword is a symbol of the sword logic that empowers him and the rest of the hive due to his bargain with the Worm Gods. This sword logic is the notion that only the strong can survive until there is one species left, the final shape.

Willbreaker was later used to kill Akka, the Worm of Secrets.[1] Willbreaker was also used by Oryx to cut a hive larva in two, resulting in the creation of two twin daughters, Ir Anûk and Ir Halak.[2]

Oryx told his sister Savathûn that he is the proof that sword logic is the only means of power, however, this was disproven when he was killed in his throne world by guardians using bomb logic. After defeating Oryx in the physical world in the Regicide mission, Eris Morn destroyed Willbreaker and took the crystal core.[3] The superiority of the sword logic crumbled when Willbreaker did, as Oryx was defeated by the sword logic in Regicide and then killed in his throne world by bomb logic in King's Fall.[citation needed]

It was reforged into the Sol Edge, Void Edge, or Arc Edge swords after Oryx's defeat at the hands of a Guardian.
