BesteroStatusBiographyRelationshipsMedia

Bestero is the Feudal Lord of Evbejia and worked with the Church of Alda and the Five-colored Blades to capture Darcia. His actions were to simply improve his reputation and earn the title of Baron.

Appearance

Bestro has light-colored hair with curled sides. He wears a posh noble outfit.

Personality

Bestero cares mostly for his own reputation and his position in society, hence the reason why he sided with the Church of Alda simply because it would help him gain a better reputation and gain the title of Baron; which his ancestors longed for.

Another reason for siding with the Church of Alda was due to being ridiculed as 『the feudal lord of a countryside with no redeeming features but its wine』and was pleased for no longer being associated with this after executing Darcia.

Chronology

Bestero had sided with the Church of Alda and sent his knights to fight alongside the monks of the Church and adventures to capture Darcia and had her publicly burned at the stake to spread the news of his involvement, the news that he helped in ending the life of the woman who had succumbed to a vampire’s seduction.[1]

After Darcia's execution, he celebrated and reveled in the fact that her death would improve his reputation with the King of the Mirg Shield-Nation and the Church of Alda, as well as evaluating himself to a higher position in society. He later sent his knights to aid High Priest Gordan in his search for Vandalieu, but to no avail.[2]

Months after Darcia's public execution he received a medal from the King of the Mirg Shield-Nation, a bountiful harvest of grapes in Evbejia and the lost of scorn from the feudal lords of the surrounding areas who saw him as 『the feudal lord of a countryside with no redeeming features but its wine』. And due to Vandalieu killing various bandits,[3] Bestero received a private that he would soon be summoned to the Amid Empire’s imperial capital.[4]

However, when Vandalieu turned Evbejia's outer walls, the earth of the fields; along with the crops and trees that were growing; and buildings into Golems; including Bestero's house; Bestero froze in fear with his knights and soldiers in a panic. The damage Vandalieu caused to Evbejia would have had Bestero beg the Mirg Shield-Nation government for aid, which would cost him his chances of acquiring the title of Baron.[4]

In addition, Vandalieu spoiled all the wine in the warehouse and sterilized the yeast that had been preserved, making it impossible to rebuild the economy by selling the wine in stock.[4]
