- "Come take a trip to outer space, in the Uranus Zone! Come enjoy the many rides, games, and the Jump Space 7 lounge. While on your way home from you intergalactic voyage, make sure you stop by the gift shop and pick up a probe for the kids."
- —Fortune City map description
The Uranus Zone is a science-fiction-themed amusement park exclusive to Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, located in Fortune City.[1] The main entrance, shaped like a large alien head, is located in Fortune Park. In Dead Rising 2, this area previously served as the exit gate out of Fortune City.
The Uranus Zone has four entry points: the Fortune Park entrance at the north end, the Atlantica Casino entrance on the east end, the South Plaza via a maintenance tunnel near the Fortune Park entrance, and the Underground via a stairwell on the west end.[2]
During the mission Quarter Circle to Forward, survivor Eric Masters seeks refuge atop a fireworks stand within the theme park. In the mission Two's Company, two comedians, Walter Morris and Royce St. John, are found arguing inside the theme park's gift shop. During The Facts, Frank heads to the Uranus Zone after destroying all seven harvesters, with the story culminating in a showdown with Stacey's Robot.

Attractions

The amusement park features several rides and attractions. Some of these can be used to kill zombies and pose a threat to the player if they get too close.[3]
- Galactic Experience: An unfinished roller coaster ride located at the south end of the park.
- UFO Crash: A "free-fall" ride positioned near the entrance to the Atlantica Casino.
- Galactic Glide: A looping spaceship ride located at the north end of the park.
- Molemen from Uranus: A "Whac-A-Mole" game located in the center of the park.
- Orbital Oscillation: A teacup ride with deadly sharp edges situated in the south end.
- MidWay-G-Matron 2525: A group of carnival games located in the center of the park.
- Giant Robot: Stacey Forsythe's battle robot is displayed as an animatronic attraction at the center of the park, near the Galactic Glide ride.
- While it does not attack, the robot follows the player's movements with waving arms and a turning head, torso, and eye(s). Photographing the Giant Robot's lower "eye" awards a special PP sticker bonus.

Trivia
- In the game files, the Uranus Zone is referred to as "Theme Park", and spray-painted signs in the hallway to the South Plaza label it as the "theme park".
- The original concept for a new Off the Record area considered a different-themed casino, such as Asian or space-themed. However, this idea was discarded due to a lack of innovative gameplay.[9] The initial theme park idea envisioned a western theme with saloons and six-gun shooting mini-games.[2]
- The Uranus Zone is the only location in Fortune City that has two restrooms.
- Despite being non-canon, Uranus Zone is visible on the Fortune City map in Dead Rising 3, found in the Museum of the Americas in Central City.
- The connection between the Uranus Zone and the Atlantica Casino, which features multiple statues of the god Poseidon/Neptune in and around it, may be a reference to Uranus being the planet directly preceding Neptune.
- There are eight stores in the Uranus Zone that have the same name and identical or similar layouts in other locations in Fortune City:
- Astonishing Illusions (Royal Flush Plaza)
- From Fortune With Love (Platinum Strip)
- Lombardi's (Food Court)
- The Man's Sport (Royal Flush Plaza)
- Players (Royal Flush Plaza and Dead Rising's Paradise Plaza)
- Rockets Red Glare (Silver Strip)
- Space (Royal Flush Plaza and Dead Rising's Entrance Plaza)
- The Venus Touch (Palisades Mall)
