Batboat

Batboat BTAS

The Batboat was a watercraft used and owned by Batman.

History

Batman used the Batboat when it was necessary to traverse bodies of water. It could also be used for underwater travel, or to stealthily arrive at waterlocked locations.

Batboat (TNBA)

After the Batboat was destroyed following a mission to Oceania, the vehicle was rebuilt and redesigned. The new design retained all the functions of the previous design, although it was used mainly as a mode of high-speed transport across water.

When Terry McGinnis took over the mantle of Batman,[1] he had access to a new submersible vehicle, the Batsub.[2]

Capabilities

The Batboat was both a high speed boat and a submarine. It is a versatile vehicle, able to skim on the surface of the water or completely submerge itself underwater with a retractable canopy.

The Batboat can be controlled remotely using Batman's Utility Belt. The Batboat is equipped with a laser gun and a jet turbine for faster movement.

The Batboat can function as a personal submarine. In case Batman needs to reach to the outside while submerged, the vehicle has a lever that allows water to fill the main chamber of the boat in order to equalise the pressure inside, so the shuttle can be opened without any risk.
