Naiad is an extremely powerful water elemental. This makes her equivalent to other elementals such as Firestorm, Red Tornado and Swamp Thing. In her previous life she was a protester who died in Alaska when she was deliberately set on fire by a corporation employee. Her powers include hydrokinesis and she is directly connected to the morphogenetic field known as the Clear. She is a member of the Parliament of Waves. Naiad was created by John Ostrander and Tom Mandrake, first appearing in Firestorm (Volume 2) #90. (1989)
