The Tunneler is a minor character in Darkwood.
He can first be found in the Village, having dug several holes along with a tunnel that leads from the Village to the Silent Forest Hideout. He is described as a disheveled man with long hair.
He can be found again in the Swamp at the Holes. Initially, he is similarly described as being a disheveled mud-caked man with long hair. Upon the second visit to the holes, a very large worm-like creature which seems to have a human body as its head can be seen jumping through holes while repeating the man's quotes. He is one of many replicas/clones created by the Being, a fusion of a man and a worm.
Trivia
- There is a possibility that the Tunneler in the Swamp is a different individual, while some replicas created by Being are unique, duplicates are not unheard of, though there is no reason not to think that this is the same individual.
- The Tunneler is one of the only replicas that can talk in game but doesn't have their own dialogue screen.
