Mary-Anne is an elderly steam shovel who works for the Crotoonian Construction Company.
Personality
Mary Anne is an old fashioned steam shovel; much older than Ned or Marion! Working through the Great Depression, and for some years used as the steam heating system for the Town Hall of Popperville, Mary Anne has been through quite a bit! She's always ready to dig into the job with the help of her operator Mike Mulligan, who goes on record saying "Mary Anne can dig more in one day than a hundred men can dig in a week!", a statement that was proven VERY true.
Technical Details
Basis
Mary-Anne is based on a Erie Type B Steam Shovel sharing features with a Thew Type O Steam Shovel (early 20th Century). Ned is also based on this.
Livery
Mary-Anne is painted bright red with a grey shovel and a black funnel.
