Ned Hawkins is the main antagonist in the non-canonical novel, Luck Be a Lady. He is a powerful and influential demon with much control in the shady business of Hollywood. He was also the brief love interest of Paige Matthews.
History
Ned was raised and mentored by Banzaf. He eventually grew to become a powerful businessman in Hollywood in 1942, owning several vehicles and a large mansion. His profession in the underground dealing was snuggling mystical items from other countries, such as magical swords and selling them off.
He attempted to start the same business deal with Oscar Lyons and tried to win over Penny Day Matthews's heart. Both rejected him every time, despite his influential power. When Paige Matthews, Penny's adoptive descendant who shares a spitting image of her, impersonates Penny to get close to Ned, Ned was so confident that he did not notice her being a different person for a time.
He later caught on when Cole Turner tried to talk business with him, only to turn the meeting into a full-blown fight that ended up killing his mentor. Ned became suspicious of Paige and left the door to his office open to lure her into a set up. Once confirmed that she was Cole's accomplice, Ned lured her, Cole and her sisters into a trap. He was ready to kill Paige, but Phoebe turned the situation around by throwing three vials of jinx potions on herself, Piper, and Paige to protect themselves from Ned's power over luck. Ned, infuriated at his failure, continued to attack with magic, even used a spell to bring a whole building down on them, but it collapsed on him instead. He survived the ordeal and Paige had to plunge a powerful sword into his chest. The sword's deadly magic brought the attention of the God of Luck, who then cursed Ned's kind from being able to say their own names and banished him.
