Perks are modifiers featured in the multiplayer aspects of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: World at War, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Call of Duty: Black Ops (Nintendo DS), Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Call of Duty: Mobile, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Call of Duty: Vanguard, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. They passively affect gameplay, allowing further customization of classes. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare/Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered

Some perks are available initially, while others are unlocked as the player progresses through multiplayer ranks. Up to three perks, one of each tier, can be equipped at once. Six perks can also be found in Old School Mode, respectively Juggernaut, Stopping Power, Sleight of Hand, Double Tap, Last Stand and Martyrdom.

Also gives the player the ability to revive downed allies. Downed after sustaining lethal fire for 30 sec.

Martyrdom 20 A live grenade is dropped upon death.
Fireproof 48 Damage from fire done to the player is reduced to 55%.
Dead Silence 52 Reduces movement noise significantly.
Iron Lungs 60 Sniper Scope hold-breath time is increased to 10 seconds.
Reconnaissance 64 Expose all Artillery, Dogs and Tanks on the map.

Vehicle Perks

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, the perks are divided into tiers in different ways than in Call of Duty 4 and World at War. Along with standard perks, players will now be able to unlock improved "Pro" versions of certain perks by fulfilling certain requirements while using them. These "Pro" versions include the original abilities of the perk, but also add new benefits.


Many of the perks that were in Call of Duty 4 and World at War that are missing are now either part of a Pro perk, available as weapon attachments, or are now deathstreaks, such as Deep Impact (FMJ), Bandolier (Scavenger Pro), and Martyrdom. The Overkill perk has been replaced partially by the inclusion of Machine Pistols, Shotguns, and Launchers as secondary weapons and also by the One Man Army and Bling perks.

Interestingly, if a Perk Challenge IV is achieved mid-game the "Pro" version will take effect immediately for all classes equipped with that perk. However, the effect of the Pro version is granted after respawning. Up to three perks, one of each tier, can be equipped at one time. The tiers are color coded blue, red, and green; only one of each can be equipped.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - Perks

Use your equipment in Last Stand. Same rules apply as the standard version of Last Stand.

Call of Duty: Black Ops

All Perks are unlocked for purchase at level 4. Unlocking Pro Perks requires three sets of challenges related to the standard version to be completed, as well as the purchase of the ability for 2000 CoD Points and the 3000 cost for the upgrade to its Pro version. The appearance of the Pro perks are done in a similar fashion to the ones in Modern Warfare 2, where the background becomes a star with the perk graphic superimposed over top of it.

First tier perks designate player appearance and provide constant passive effects. Second tier perks enhance weapon performance. Third tier perks can be either active or passive and are generally more context-sensitive than first tier perks. The perks featured in Black Ops are as follows.

Call of Duty: Black Ops - Perks

Call of Duty: Black Ops (Nintendo DS) and Modern Warfare 3: Defiance

Perks are featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops (Nintendo DS) and can be selected during respawn and at the menu.

The perks are unlocked when the player reaches various multiplayer levels. The Perks are:

These perks return once again in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3: Defiance, but are now sorted into tiers. So unlike Black Ops DS where the player can pick any perk to equip in their perk slots. Players are now restricted into using perks in their allocated tier.

Perks return in Call of Duty Online, in the familiar three-tier system similar to the Black Ops and Modern Warfare trilogies, as well as Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. However, the player needs to both have the required rank, and in-game currency amount, in order to purchase one. Another addition to the purchase system is that micro-transaction CODPoints (CP) can be used to buy the perks instead of the common in-game GP currency. Unlike previous installments, it contains no "Pro" perks, as some perks contain three or more perk capabilities in one.

Call of Duty: Ghosts

Perks return in Call of Duty: Ghosts, dividing into seven categories. These are Speed, Handling, Stealth, Awareness, Resistance, Equipment, and Elite. A player starts with 8 'points' to distribute between 35 perks. Perks are weighted between 1 and 5 points. Primary weapons, secondary weapons, and lethal and tactical equipment all count as one 'point', and removing them all would result in 12 'points' becoming available. Perks can be unlocked through a certain level or squad points. Any perk can be unlocked any time through squad points.

Firepower Support - Adds 2 reserve ammunition to all launchers. 70% chance to obtain the enemy's Scorestreaks when destroying it with a launcher.
Survival Training - Immune to the negative effects of a single hostile tactical item. 20 second cooldown.
Assassin - After 90 secs in a match, high-threat enemies are marked on the mini-map and extra score bonuses are given for eliminating them, except in Search & Destroy. These enemies are ones who have activated 3 Scorestreaks or have a K-D ratio of over 4 without dying.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II

Perks are split into three categories: Base Perks, Bonus Perks, and Ultimate Perks. Base perks are available at the start of matches. Bonus perks are enabled approximately two minutes into a match while Ultimate perks are enabled approximately four minutes into a match. Bonus and Ultimate perk enabling time can be sped up by getting kills and scoring points.

Overkill 21 Carry two primary weapons.
Scavenger 26 Resupply ammo and throwing knives from dead players.
Battle Hardened 37 Reduce the effect of enemy Flash, Stun, EMP, Gas Grenades, and Shock Sticks. Immune to Snapshot Grenades.
Tracker 39 Enemies leave behind a footprint trail, and enemy death markers are visible. Kill markers are hidden from the enemy team.
Bonus Perks

Fast Hands 8 Reload, use equipment, and swap weapons faster.
Cold-Blooded 28 Undetectable by AI targeting systems, and thermal optics. Does not trigger High Alert warning. Does not highlight in enemy Tactical Cameras, Recon Drones, and Spotter Scopes.
Resupply 31 Spawn with an additional Lethal. Equipment recharges over 25 seconds.
Spotter 41 Spot enemy equipment, Field Upgrades, and Killstreaks through walls. Aiming down sights highlights them for the team. Hack enemy Claymores, Proximity Mines, C4, and Trophy Systems.
Focus 50 Reduce flinch when aiming down sights and extend Hold Breath duration.
Ultimate Perks

High Alert 14 Vision pulses when spotted by an enemy player outside of view.
Survivor 34 On death, enter Last Stand with the ability to self-revive once per life. Teammates can revive downed players faster.
Quick Fix 44 Killing players immediately triggers health regeneration. Capturing and holding objectives increases health regeneration rate.
Bird's-Eye 47 The minimap is zoomed out. UAV and Radar pings reveal the enemy's direction. ON-EARN: Ping enemies on the minimap.
Ghost 52 Undetectable by UAVs, Portable Radars, and Heartbeat Sensors.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III

In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, the game doesn't feature traditional Tiered Perk categories, but presents a similar system in which it is divided into Vests, Gloves, Boots, and Gear.

Flak Jacket Level 8 Reduces incoming explosive and fire damage.
Tac Mask Level 44 Resistance to enemy flash and concussion grenades and enemy Neuro Gas.
Tier 2 Perks

Bruiser Level 53 Melee kills and finishing moves replenish health and earn extra score.
Hunter's Instinct Via Armory Killing an enemy marks the next closest enemy.
Engineer At start See enemy Equipment and Scorestreaks through walls and enemy Scorestreak icons on the minimap.
Tracker Level 29 See enemy footsteps. ADSing auto-pings enemies.
Forward Intel Level 47 Increases minimap area and shows direction indicators for revealed enemies.
Vendetta Via Armory On respawn, mark your killer's last known position for a short duration. Get a bonus score for eliminating that enemy. The Vigilance Perk counters being marked by Vendetta.
Dispatcher Level 11 Reduces score cost for non-lethal Scorestreaks. Stacks with Bankroll.
Fast Hands Level 38 Swap weapons faster and extend fuses when throwing back grenades.
Shadow Via Armory Undetectable to enemy traps and mines.
Tier 3 Perks

Slipstream Via Armory Raises your base sprint speed at the cost of removing Tac Sprint.
Vigilance Level 6 Display a HUD icon whenever you appear on enemy minimaps. Immune to CUAV and Scrambler. Immune to Sleeper Agent.
Cold-Blooded Level 41 Undetectable by AI targeting and thermal optics. Player-controlled Scorestreaks don’t highlight you.
Shrapnel Radar Via Armory Dealing non-Lethal explosive damage to enemies reveals them on your minimap.
Quartermaster At start Recharge Equipment uses over time.
Guardian Level 32 Faster healing while capturing and holding objectives. Revive downed teammates faster.
Gearhead Level 50 Two Field Upgrade charges and increased charge rate. Hack enemy Equipment and Field Upgrades. Booby trap Care Packages.
