Demon Lord

Demon lords

Demon Lord was a term used to refer to powerful demons dedicated to conquest and domination.[1][2]

History

Lords of Los Angeles

During the Fall of Los Angeles, several demons ruled over areas of hellish Los Angeles.[3][4] Some of them, like Kr'ph or Non, were previously nothing more than "bottom-feeders" who took advantage of the chaos to climb up in the new system.[5][6]

Most of L.A.'s Lords were killed by the explosions of their Hagun shafts, provided to them by Bro'os, Lord of Santa Monica, who betrayed his fellow Lords to Angel in exchange for his life.[7] Lorne, Lord of Silver Lake, remained the sole authority figure over the city until its restoration.[7][8]

Thanks to the temporal fold the Senior Partners performed to undo Angel's death, all the dead Lords were resurrected; those who Bro'os had betrayed exacted revenge on the demon loan shark.[9]

Demon triumvirate

The Mistress, the Sculptor, and the Soul Glutton were Demon Lords who individually ruled over sirens,[10] flesh golems,[11] and his hell dimension.[12] They joined forces against the Scooby Gang,[13] using the Restless Door to overwhelm the Earth with demon invasions.[14][15]

Archaeus

Archaeus was the demon whose essence was present in the Master's bloodline, reaching and influencing notorious vampires such as the Master himself, Darla, Angel, Drusilla, and Spike. He emerged from his hell following the restoration of magic and began hunting in San Francisco,[16] where he sought to control Angel and Spike, but their souls and connection with the Scooby Gang prevented Archaeus from succeeding.[17][18]

Not to repeat his failure, Archaeus sought Drusilla in London and had her siring an army of new vampires[19] to fight for control of the magic in Magic Town.[2] However, Archaeus' battle was undermined when Angel's allies gathered to help him despite the danger, which made Archaeus's "family" withdraw and leave him alone to be sealed by the magic itself.[20]
