Magic Shard (魔法のかけら, Mahou no Kakera?, lit. "Magic Fragment") is a Stat-Raising item that appears throughout the Breath of Fire series. It permanently raises a party member's maximum AP by 1 point. It first appeared in Breath of Fire III, and was subsequently included in Breath of Fire IV. The item was retitled as Magic Bean (ちしきのマメ, Chishiki no Mame?, lit. "Bean of Knowledge") for its appearance in the Game Boy Advance re-release of Breath of Fire II.
