Mysterious Visitors from Outer Space!
Maripos comes to Rintis Island on Kuputeri's orders and kidnaps Gopal to use as bait to make BoBoiBoy come to meet him. Maripos introduces himself to BoBoiBoy. He said he want to meet the one who managed to defeat Retak'ka. Maripos tells him that he will release Gopal if BoBoiBoy is willing to give up his Wind Elemental Power, but BoBoiBoy refuses. Fang arrives to help BoBoiBoy and continues the fight against Maripos, but is easily defeated.
While in TAPOPS-U Greenhouse, Hang Kasa and Qually receive a signal and saw BoBoiBoy fighting Maripos. Maripos wants to force BoBoiBoy to use all the power he has while fighting him. The fight between the two of them got stronger and already out of control. Hang Kasa and Kuputeri appear to stop the fight. Tok Kasa apparently knew Kuputeri and introduced her as the original user of the Elemental Power of Tempest. Maripos is actually commissioned by Kuputeri to test BoBoiBoy's mastery over the Elemental Powers. Kuputeri conveys her real desire to meet BoBoiBoy because she wants her Wind power back.
Appearance
Maripos has average height and light-gray hair that is tied up in a ponytail. He has a pair of pale lavender eyes. There are lavender upside-down triangles on his cheeks. On his forehead, he has antennas that resemble those of a butterfly fillers. He is dressed in a sophisticated black and gray battle suit along with a red cape, which has a collar and subtle amber invisible and visible line pattern design. It is notable that he has facial features beautiful to be a man's.
He adorns a pin with a blue rose and 3 feathers that consist of the color gold and purple on it on the front of his cape. He also dons a cartwheel hat with two purple feathers, matching the color of his cape.
During the Gur'latan Arc, his hair seemed to have grown longer.
In his animated counterpart, his model has freckles.
Skills and Abilities
- Transformation - Maripos can turn into butterflies. He can also turn back again.
- Hypnosis - Maripos can mesmerise an opponent to the point of making them fall asleep.
- Cocoon - Maripos can create cocoons to bind opponents.
- Hologram - Maripos can project a hologram to a person through a butterfly.
- Sky Dancing Technique (Jurus Langkah Langit) - It is Maripos' secret move that allows it floating and walking in the air.
- Agility - Maripos is very agile and speedy and can dodge opponent attacks with ease.
- Illusions - Maripos can create illusions with many butterflies to deceive and dodge an opponent's attack.
- Mighty/Swatting Fan Attack/Technique (Jurus Kipas Libas) - Maripos has a fan that can create strong winds.
- Multiple Illusions (Jurus Ilusi Berganda) - Maripos clones himself, surrounds his target and attack target simultaneously. Maripos states this technique as his ultimate power.
Trivia
- Although he may look young, his actual age is unknown due to him coming from a race in Windara that goes on a very slow aging process.
- He carries a baton as a weapon which can transform into a giant fan.
- The said fan may also resemble an electric guitar of sort.
- Maripos shares the same Malay Voice actor as Captain Kaizo.
- Maripos' height has changed in the Animated version of the series into a taller one than his original.
- The name "Maripos" came from the word "mariposa", which is a Spanish word that translates to "butterfly"
