Gifted. (Song)

Gifted. is a song by BE:FIRST. It is the title track in their debut single Gifted. and the second track in their first album BE:1. It was pre-released digitally on November 1, 2021.

Background and Release

BEFIRST Gifted

On the September 17, 2021 episode of morning news program Sukkiri, SKY-HI announced the group's official debut date of November 3rd with the release of their first single, "Gifted".

Gifted. is a collaboration between SKY-HI and producer Ryosuke "Dr.R" Sakai. SKY-HI had previously worked with Sakai in writing To The First, the theme song for audition show THE FIRST from which BE:FIRST was born. With a dramatic and solemn sound, the song depicts the story of BE:FIRST, who went from being "nobody" to being called "gifted," along with the message that "everyone is born gifted."[1]

"Gifted." is the fourth and final song in the "BMSG" series of songs following "Be Free" and "Move On" (written for THE FIRST's Professional Trial Stage), and BE:FIRST's pre-debut song Shining One.

The number of letters in the songs Be Free, Move On, and Shining One correspond to the number of members who performed each song on THE FIRST. The addition of the period to Gifted. makes it seven characters meaning BE:FIRST is complete with its seven members who are ready to take on the world. "This is the culmination of one and the start of a new story."[2]
