Bloons Wii is a port of the original Bloons (Game) for the WiiWare service. It is a single player game released in the USA in the February 8th, 2010 and in the UK and EU regions in February 16th. It can be purchased on the Wii Shop Channel for 500 Nintendo Points or approximately $5 USD. The layout of the game differs noticeably from the original Bloons game. Aside from the 70 levels present in the game, there's also a level editor. the game was discontinued on 30 January, 2019 due to the shutdown of the Wii shop channel.
Description
"Bloons is an exciting puzzle game based on the simple fact that popping balloons is fun. Pop your way through dozens of puzzling levels in this exciting puzzle adventure. Each level will have a different arrangement of balloons. Using the darts you're given, try to pop as many as you can. Look out for special balloons, blocks and darts, and have fun discovering what they do. You can pick up and play for a few minutes or spend hours working your way through the game's 70 levels. As an added bonus, there's also a level editor that allows you to create your own balloon puzzles."
Reception
Bloons Wii has had very unfavorable reviews with well-known reviewers such as Nintendo Life giving it a 2/10 and Metacritic giving it an overall score of 21/100. A few reasons for this involves a steep and unbalanced increase in difficulty across levels, a difficult-to-use interface for the level editor as well as poorly set up controls for the game in general.
