Potrof 「ポトロフ Potorofu」 is a Spirit Guardian of the Heart Kingdom.[1]
Appearance
Potrof is a man with a stocky build and medium-length, blond hair. He also has a round face and freckles.
Potrof wears a dark green shirt and pants under a light green, sleeveless tunic. His wide belt and wristbands are dark brown and have a series of hearts on them. He also wears a necklace and black fur collar. On his head is a green, wide-brimmed hat, and the hatband has a similar pattern as his belt.
Personality
Potrof has shown to be worried and responsible that he may have created a terrifying monster out of Charmy after training her, and believes that it is his duty to stop her before she causes too much damage.[1]
Biography
Potrof trains Charmy Pappitson and Rill Boismortier after the Clover and Heart Kingdoms form an alliance against the Spade Kingdom.[1]
Potrof is assigned to train Rill Boismortier and begins by teaching him how to bask in natural mana in a forested area. Potrof states that the forest is full of life, which means it is also rich with mana. Potrof explains the Heart Kingdom's magic technique, Mana Method, and then demonstrates it by growing a bunch of trees. Rill is inspired by Potrof's magic and Potrof tells him to go with it, but instead of making rune arrays, Rill simply paints the scenery. Potrof tells Rill to try directly writing the runes with his paint, which seems to work. Rill continues to paint, making his artwork even more amazing, much to Potrof's frustration. They are later joined by Charmy Pappitson, who is searching for more snacks after having eaten everything in the palace. Potrof offers to teach her the technique as well. At first she is not interested, but after finding out that she can use the technique to find food, she becomes more eager. Potrof tries to teach them more, but they are only interested in finding more food and inspiring scenery, much to Potrof's frustration.[2]
Six months later, when Charmy begins consuming all of the food in the Polnfrume Forest, Potrof arrives and tries to stop her, but his Plant Magic simply passes through her Cotton Magic. Rill then takes over the fight for Potrof and succeeded in stopping Charmy with the help of Asta.[1]

Later, when Vanica Zogratis and five Dark Disciples attack the Heart Kingdom, Potrof is defeated by Halbet Chevour.[3][4] Potrof wakes up in time to see Charmy fighting the Dark Disciple. He is unnerved by Charmy's display of Food Magic and confirms that he has created a monster.[5]
Several days later, Potrof and others travel to the Spade Kingdom's capital in order to help stop the Qliphoth Advent Ritual.[6] They use True Magic attacks to decimate the horde of low-ranked devils.[7] The Spirit Guardians (except Gadjah) remain at the front gate and continue fighting the endless hordes of devils.[8]
Mereoleona Vermillion joins the Spirit Guardians after she destroys the demon.[9] Shortly after, however, the second gate of the underworld opens and all of the devils' bodies are merged into a giant monstrous form for Lucifero. The Spirit Guardians and the Resistance members are then pinned to ground by Gravity Magic.[10] When one of Lucifero's tentacles threatens to crush the mages pinned down, Mereoleona and Fuegoleon Vermillion then combine their magic to stop it.[11]
After Asta and Liebe bisect the monster and destroy the Ritual, everyone is freed from the gravity.[12] When half of the monster begins falling toward where the Spirit Guardians and the Resistance members are, Yuno Grinberryall destroys the section, saving them.[13] Lucifero then compresses the monster's remains into a body, through which he manifests in a half-complete form. He forces the humans to prostrate themselves before him.[14]
