Wyverns are reptilian flying creatures related to dragons in Betrayal at Krondor.
Overview
A fresh Wyvern's Egg is required for each casting of Thy Master's Will, a spell that only works on wyverns.
Hatchling Wyverns

Hatchling Wyverns are described as having olive-scaled necks and serpentine eyes. Their sprites appear to have purple necks.
In battle, they are immune to Wrath of Killian.[1] Their ranged attack is a heavily damaging sphere of roiling purple energy.
While Hatchling Wyverns usually do not carry items, they will very occasionally be found with minor objects such as a Torch.
Grandsire Wyverns

Grandsire Wyverns have blue necks and are particularly vulnerable to fire. They take no damage from Fetters of Rime, though they can be frozen by the spell. However, they take double damage from Flamecast and Firestorm.[2]
Bulldrake Wyverns

Bulldrake Wyverns have yellow necks. Though not as dangerous as a dragon, a bulldrake wyvern can slay creatures twice its size.
Bulldrake Wyverns take double damage and are frozen twice as long by Fetters of Rime, but are immune to Flamecast.[3]
Trivia
- The game's earliest Hatchling Wyvern can be encountered in the Naphtha Mines.
- On discovering the badly burned body of a young elf tangled in the scorched branches above an empty tree house, Gorath deduces that he fought a losing battle against a wyvern.
- The author of the book in The Vaults mentions having no knowledge of wyverns being used in battle.
- According to another book found at The Vaults, wyverns with red necks are known to trouble farmers, and are especially vulnerable to blades enchanted with Althafain's Icer. While no wyverns with red necks appear in the game, Bulldrake Wyverns are particularly vulnerable to cold-based attacks such as the Icer.
- The sprite used for Hatchling Wyverns' ranged attack is the same as that used for Fetters of Rime and the ranged attacks of Shades.
