Wraiths are creatures from Etherea, a dimension apart from Ramar in Betrayal in Antara. They first appear in Chapter 5.
One Wraith is voiced by Stephan Weyte, who also voiced Flaar.
Description
Wraiths are giant, luminescent and translucent ghost-like creatures with broad bat-like wings, long sharp beaks, bright eyes, and no distinguishable body. Adult wraiths steal souls to feed to their young, which hatch out of eggs unable to feed for themselves.
Normally, Wraiths cannot survive in the mana-poor atmosphere of Ramar. Rarely, some live long enough to procreate with creatures from Ramar's material plane, resulting in bizarre magically potent offspring capable of survival in both worlds.
In Battle
The young, mana-shielded Wraiths found in the Ridgewood move slowly and do not attack right away, but cannot be destroyed without a Sword or Staff enchanted as a Wraithslayer.
