Hippopotamass^{[MW 1]} is the Omnitrix's DNA sample of an unknown species from an unknown planet.^{[note 1]}

Appearance

Hippopotamass is a humanoid blue hippo who wears a black shirt and white shorts. He has a white collar and four fingers on his hands. His eyes and forehead glows yellow when he uses his powers.

Hippopotamass wears the Omnitrix symbol on his collar.

Powers and Abilities

Hippopotamass is able to alter density using yellow energy that he projects from his hands. He is able to make objects or even himself light enough to float.^{[TNP 1]}

• Hippopotamass was unlocked off-screen after Ben 10: Destroy All Aliens.^{[MW 3]}

Five Years Prior to Omniverse

• Hippopotamass was among the aliens that Ben moved on from due to being underpowered.^{[MW 3]}

Etymology

Hippopotamass is a combination of "hippopotamus", the animal he's based on, and "mass", referencing his density powers.

• Matt Wayne first came up with Hippopotamass during the run of Omniverse in 2013.^{[MW 3]}
• Hippopotamass was drawn by Thomas N. Perkins IV in 2020 on his Twitter. However, he mistakenly spelled the transformation's name as "Hippopotomass" and "Hippopotomas".^{[TNP 2]}
• Out of all the post-run aliens drawn by Perkins, Hippopotamass was Derrick J. Wyatt's favorite.^{[DJW 1]}
