Background
Louis's birth parents are unknown. When he was 5, he was brought to the tower to be raised as livestock and locked up with other herbivore children in the Black Market for the purposes of being eaten by carnivores. He was tattooed with a "4" on the bottom of his right foot.
Louis also had two friends, a female rabbit called Number 9 and a male alpaca called Number 3. Through a series of lotteries, children herbivores would be taken to waiting customers. None of the children were taught how to speak or read, as seen by the sounds that Louis makes in attempts to communicate.
Ogma approaches his cage, stating that he will buy Louis, much to his displeasure. Once in the elevator to leave, Ogma introduces himself and reveals that he suffers from a birth defect that prevents him from producing children. He states that he plans to raise Louis as his own son due to Louis's lack of own parents.
As a test of his abilities, Ogma opens the elevator door and pushes Louis into a room full of hungry carnivores with only a knife to protect himself. At first, the carnivores question the situation then slowly approach Louis as the small fawn holds the knife up to his own neck, screaming.
Ogma quickly pulls Louis back into the elevator and composes himself. He states that Louis is "exactly what he's been looking for" and opens the door again to reveal a shining sunset. He hugs Louis, claiming that he will be able to turn his pain and suffering into strength.
After being adopted, Louis grew up in an environment where displaying emotions and failure were prohibited. Since the tender age of seven, Louis was groomed by his father to be the next heir of the Horns Conglomerate. Louis became engaged to marry Azuki, a female red deer whose father is also a CEO, for political purposes. Though Louis performed well academically and wasn't abused, Louis didn't receive very much warmth from his adoptive father. Thus, forming Louis's steely personality.
Drama Club arc
Louis sneaks into school after class and injures his ankle. He attempts to hide his injury and collapses after a performance. Louis makes Bill his successor after Bill informs him of his injury. He discovers Bill had been using rabbit blood and broke up a fight between him and Legoshi. Louis lies to reporters and claims the fight was part of the show.
Meteor Festival arc

After Haru is kidnapped, he is bribed by the Mayor to keep quiet about it. He infiltrates the Shishigumi hideout and kills Chief Lion. He then prepares himself to be eaten by the lions.
Following his assassination of the Shishigumi boss after he attempted to shoot Legoshi, Louis had a mental breakdown after all the expectations he needed to live up to in his life and the corrupt adults in the world he lives in. Louis decided to become the new boss of the Shishigumi, feeling he needs to find a way to feel important and have a purpose. As the news broke out that Louis went "missing", the usually peaceful relationships between the carnivore and herbivore students began to sour at Cherryton Academy without Louis there to create stability between the two.
Murder Incident Solution arc
Louis struggles to adjust to being the boss of the Shishigumi due to his inability to eat meat and handle booze and cigars. He uses his influence to try to make the Black Market a less violent place and to make herbivores feel more comfortable. During the fall, he returns to Cherryton to give the drama club his Leave Report and plants a bouquet in front of Tem's memorial with a card reading "Tem. I'm sorry."
After Legoshi notifies Louis about discovering who murdered Tem and the growing tensions between the students at Cherryton, he later realizes that he needs to go back. Ibuki, one of the lions that Louis became friends with, attempted to prevent Louis from leaving, but was killed by Free due to a promise they made earlier to protect the boss from Ibuki. Free takes Louis to the main street and tells him to go live his life, but with the promise that if Free see him in the Black Market again, he'll eat him alive.
Louis arrives to witness the duel between Legoshi and Riz and offers Legoshi his right foot as an energy boost. Shortly after the duel is over, the police come and take Louis to the hospital while Riz gets arrested and Legoshi goes to the police station. Louis gets a prosthetic leg and at school, Headmaster Gon offers Louis the title of Sublime Beastar, but Louis declines as he wasn't the one who stopped Tem's killer. The title couldn't go to Legoshi either as he is now registered as a predatorial offender for eating Louis's foot. Louis graduates as an "honor student" and tells Bill that he'll be the next drama club president starting next year. Later that month, he takes an entrance exam for Galdona University.
Interspecies Relations arc
After reading an article online about a 17-year-old gray wolf stopping a drug cartel selling the illegal bloodbone drug, he figured that to be Legoshi and goes to visit him at the Galdona District Police Station Infirmary.
Revenge of the Love Failure arc
Louis and Juno have entered a relationship and are dating. When Legoshi gets shot and collapses on the ground, Louis begins to feel excruciating pain in his leg. This leads him to think that he has become spiritually connected to Legoshi and feels pain in his leg whenever Legoshi's life is in huge danger.
At university, there are rumors all around about him being the boss of a criminal organization in the Black Market while being on break from high school. Two carnivore students approached him, but he managed to defend himself using a technique the Shishigumi taught him. While strolling around near the Black Market, he noticed Free and a lion that looks like Ibuki. He followed them which led him to the rest of the Shishigumi. Free and some other lions pointed their guns at him in order to shoot him, but his antlers fell off, leaving the lions taken aback. With his antlers fallen and his head bleeding, Louis looked different from how they've ever seen him, and instead of killing Louis, Free hugged him, saying how he misses him. They then return to the hideout to fix his head.
At the hideout, Louis sees that they're eating melons and are only allowed to have meat twice a month. Louis discovers that a criminal named Melon is their new boss. After tricking Melon into thinking that the smell of a deer comes from the shed antlers, Melon leaves. As the Shishigumi escort Louis out of the Market, they beg him to return and be their boss again, but Louis just can't do it.
After helping a meat-drunk classmate, Louis calls the Shishigumi, telling them that he wants to help them. Louis introduces the lions to Legoshi, and they all go to Kopi Luwak to ask Deshico the civet for information about Melon. After that, Louis, Legoshi and the Shishigumi part ways.
After some time, Louis goes to see how the Black Market is doing, and he bumps into Legoshi. Louis decides to show him the place where he was raised as livestock. After the floor of the elevator breaks, they fall several floors below into a room where they encounter Number 3 and Number 9, now called San and Kyuu.
Legoshi tells Louis that he'll train with Kyuu and wants Louis to be present for the final battle when he finally settles things with Melon at the end of December. After Louis returns home, he learns that his father is in critical condition due to a car crash and rushes to see him right away. Ogma declares Louis the new president of the Horns Conglomerate and hugs him one last time before succumbing to his injuries.
Louis goes to the November Odd Souls Festival because he wants to be in a crowd where he encounters Haru. As they are talking, she tells him that she made a fooling promise to be eaten next month by her part-time history instructor, who turns out to be Melon. He tells her that she needs to live and that she should go visit Legoshi before his duel on Rexmas.
Two days before the duel, Louis came to visit Legoshi at his apartment to offer his blood for the turf war. On Rexmas, Louis comes to the Horns Conglomerate CEO Inauguration Press Conference, apologizing for being late due to giving a blood donation. He requests the broadcasting code rules to be lifted, so he could tell everyone what is happening in the Black Market. He points out how the carnivore news reporters have been consuming meat and states that it is necessary for carnivores to eat meat, which causes a riot.
While the Shishigumi were chasing Kyuu into the city, they spot Louis on a jumbotron being dragged away by security officers while pleading to go to the Black Market. The Shishigumi retrieve Louis and everyone gets inside the car and drive away with the police following after them. Seeing how the police were willing to shoot at the car while Louis is still inside, the lions jump out of the car and surrender themselves to the police, giving Free enough time to get Louis and Kyuu to Legoshi and Melon's duel.
Two months later, Louis ends his relationship with Juno to focus on the Horns Conglomerate and his marriage to Azuki.
