Utah, USA is a level in BeamNG.drive located in the state of Utah, and more precisely around a canyon in a desert, inside the West Rock Canyon National Park. It does not hold any city, but has a few buildings and shops, a highway, some roads, a river, and lots of trails.

This map also is also the venue for the two first official campaigns of BeamNG, both added during the year 2016: Senseless Destruction with version 0.7 and A Rocky Start with version 0.8.

Development

The map was introduced in game with version 0.5.4, on April 19, 2016. Of all the maps at the time, this one probably spent the longest time in development before its release; the concept originated years ago but was placed on hold due to Torque3D issues. Development went quiet for a long period of time before a few early development screenshots surfaced on the forums; several months after that, the first in-game teaser was shown on 03/29/2016. The tunnel was added a month later with version 0.5.6.

The level uderwent a remaster on December 9, 2019 with update v0.19, which includes improved sky settings, many aesthetic improvements and many new points of interest. On March 29, 2021, the map received new garages and car dealerships with update v0.22, along ECA, Italy and WCUSA. Terrain and asphalt material were updated to PBR with update v0.24, dirt roads followed with update v0.25 and foliage with update v0.26. New bus shelters were shipped in update v0.34.

  • For a short time through an update, there was a hole in the map and spikes to the eastern end to the tunnel. This was quickly fixed.
