LOVE 2

"LOVE 2" (stylized as ๐“›๐“ž๐“ฅ๐“” ๐Ÿ) is the second single album by BBGIRLS, solely consisting of the title track of the same name. It was released on January 15, 2025.

Background

During the group's anniversary livestream on February 16, 2024, the members mentioned that a comeback was planned for that year.[2][3] However, on April 22 it was announced that BBGIRLS had ended their contract with Warner Music Korea, and that Youjoung had parted ways with the group.[4]

During a guest appearance on the web series Not Go Home in May 2024, Minyoung and Eunji indicated that a comeback was in the works.[5] During a special guest performance at the Inje Night Race on August 24,[6][7] Minyoung announced that they were preparing a new album and asked the crowd to stream it when it was released.[8] In September, Minyoung posted messages to Kakaotalk hinting that something would be released sometime in the final quarter of the year.[9] In October, Minyoung announced on Kakaotalk that while they had been preparing to release an album before the end of the year, they'd had to push its release to early 2025.[10] Later that same month, she posted to Kakaotalk that the group had had a meeting about production of a music video.[11] In early November, Minyoung posted photos on her Instagram story indicating the group was working on something at DoobDoob Studio, a recording studio in Seoul.[12]

On December 11, 2024, it was announced that BBGIRLS had signed directly with GLG, after previously entering a partership with them earlier in the year under their own company.[13][14][15] On December 12, GLG announced that BBGIRLS would be releasing a new album on January 15, 2025.[1][16][17] On December 13, Minyoung clarified that the release would not be a full-length album or a mini-album.[18] On December 25, during their appearance on No Back Tak Jaehoon, Eunji and Yuna said that the title of the comeback song would be "Love To" (๋Ÿฌ๋ธŒ ํˆฌ), though they clarified that the title would be in English.[19] On January 1, further information about the track, including clarification of it's title, was revealed on the KBS censor list.[20]

On January 5, 2025, a teaser image was released confirming the title, as well as the announcing that the release would be a single album.[21][22] Pre-order and packaging information was unveiled the following day.[23] Concept photos for Minyoung were released on January 6,[24] for Eunji on January 7,[25], and Yuna on January 8.[26] A concept film for the album was released on January 10,[27] and teasers for the music video were released on January 12[28] and 13.[29] A livestream was held on January 14, where Yuna played a short clip of the title track on her phone.[30]
