Yawara (柔, Yawara), translated as Soft in the English fan-translation manga, is a fighting technique.
Description
The Yawara is a jujutsu grab at the wrist. This technique seems to be intended to weaken the opponent with performing a special grab, and then throw his body. In the further series part, Baki Hanma proven that this move can even be effectively used by someone with almost no muscle mass.
In the first manga series, Kanji Igari used this move against Baki Hanma in their battle during the Maximum Tournament. He grabbed Baki's wrist in a special way which weakened Baki, and then throwed him to the arena's fence. Later, in the second manga series, Baki Hanma used this move in his fight with Kaiou Ri during the Raitai tournament. He also grabbed his opponent's wrist, but throwed him in a different way. Baki performed more of a jujutsu flip throw to overturn him.
